Best Starter Weapons in Battlefield 6

Battlefield 6 features a huge variety of weapons, but many are only unlocked as you play and complete challenges. Luckily, the weapons you start with are quite effective and can still hold their own against later-game options.

While some of the starting weapons in *Battlefield 6* become less effective as you unlock more guns, you can still successfully use a few of the initial weapons even at higher levels. This is largely due to how you customize them with attachments and build your loadout, so focusing on these aspects can help you maximize their potential.

Best Battlefield 6 Starter Guns

The M433 Assault Rifle is generally considered the best weapon to start with in Battlefield 6. It excels in close-quarters combat with its rapid fire rate, but can be difficult to control initially. Once you unlock attachments like grips, the M433 becomes much more manageable and effective at both close and long ranges.

If you need a weapon that performs well in close-range fights, the M4A1 Carbine is a great option. It’s the standard carbine and one of the most powerful in its class. While it packs more punch than the M433, it has a bit more recoil to manage. With the right upgrades, it can go toe-to-toe with top-tier Assault Rifles.

Once you’ve played a few matches, you’ll get the PW5A3 SMG at level 6. This is essentially the MP5, a well-known submachine gun that’s appeared in many first-person shooter games over the years. It’s an upgrade from the SGX, offering better control when firing, more damage, and clear iron sights, which lets you use attachments in other equipment slots.

The M2010 ESR Sniper Rifle is a surprisingly powerful weapon, even though it’s available from the start of the game. It’s incredibly accurate and effective at very long ranges. While it doesn’t have quite the same punch as the PSR, it can still get one-shot kills from hundreds of meters away. You can also add a canted sight to help with aiming in close-quarters combat.

Even as you progress and unlock new weapons in *Battlefield 6*, the guns you start with are still effective. What you add to your weapons – attachments – really matters, so it’s often better to use a basic weapon with lots of unlocked attachments than to switch to a brand new weapon right away.
