He certainly fought hard, proving he’s still incredibly capable, but ultimately lost to Kuzan, a former student, who defeated him with a piercing attack.
Many fans feared Garp had died after his recent battle, but it’s been confirmed he survived. The beginning of the Elbaf Arc reveals he was captured by Blackbeard and his crew, leaving his future uncertain.
Zoro Learns He Can Use Supreme King Haki

After Luffy, Zoro is clearly the most powerful fighter in the Straw Hat crew. Although Sanji is also very strong, Zoro consistently proves his strength in battles. The recent events in Elbaf showed everyone – even Zoro himself – something new about his capabilities.
In chapter 1152, Scopper Gaban unexpectedly revealed that Zoro has the rare Supreme King Haki, a fact Zoro himself didn’t know. While Gaban got in trouble for sharing this information, it’s now confirmed that Zoro is one of the few characters in One Piece with this powerful ability who is still alive. This could be a major benefit for the Straw Hats and their allies in Elbaf as they fight against the Knights of God.

Franky first talked about the Treasure Tree Adam during the Enies Lobby Arc, and after nearly twenty years, fans finally saw it. While exploring the tree with Ripley and Lilith, they discovered an ancient facility that Lilith believes is at least 3,000 years old. This was a huge surprise, but even more important was an ancient mural carved into the tree itself. The mural shows scenes from the Harley of Elbaf, an old text detailing past events and containing mysterious prophecies.

I’ve been following the Harley Quinn situation closely, and Saul made a really interesting point – how we understand the clues seems to depend entirely on who’s looking at them. Right now, Robin is the one deciphering things. It’s clear that both the text and the mural hold the answers to mysteries fans have been trying to solve for ages. The big question is just how long it will take everyone to piece it all together.

Shanks has always been a key figure in the world of One Piece, even though he hasn’t been directly involved in most of the story. Recently, it was revealed that his twin brother, Shamrock, is one of the Knights of God. This confirms a hint from the movie One Piece Film: RED – that Shanks belongs to the Garling Family, and Figarland Garling is both his and Shamrock’s father.
Shamrock revealed a shocking secret: Shanks knows he’s descended from World Nobles, and actually turned his back on that life after a short visit to Mary Geoise. The flashback to God Valley also showed us more about the twins’ origins – they were born on the island to a red-haired mother who Garling cruelly killed a year after they were born. Dragon managed to save Shanks, but Shamrock was left behind and raised by the unfair World Nobles.
Rocks’ Backstory Is Revealed
The Mysterious Rocks Pirates Aren’t So Mysterious Anymore
A major highlight of the Elbaf Arc so far has been the extensive flashback, spanning multiple chapters, which has shed light on the history of Elbaf’s previous king, Harald, the events of God Valley, and the infamous Rocks D. Xebec.
Rocks has long been an enigmatic character, but recent flashbacks from the author have finally revealed a lot about his past, making him a surprisingly sympathetic figure. We now know he’s Blackbeard’s father and, interestingly, that he originally belonged to the famous Davy Clan, adopting the name ‘Rocks’ to mislead the World Government.
Records indicate Rocks is among the very few who knew about Imu, having encountered him during a destructive incident on Mary Geoise. Rocks also arranged for his wife, Eris, and their son to go into hiding on God Valley, a decision that would later become significant during the events of the Native Hunting Competition on that island.
We Don’t Know Everything About Loki’s Past
The Newest Straw Hat Candidate Might Not Be What He Seems
The people of Elbaf don’t have a good opinion of Loki, and it’s easy to see why. He’s accused of killing his father, Harald, and even claims he’ll one day destroy the world. Considering this, it’s understandable to see him as a villain, but the author, Oda, has suggested there’s more to the story than meets the eye.
The flashbacks in the Elbaf arc are starting to show us that Loki had a difficult childhood. He was mistreated and ignored because of his unique eyes, which explains why he often seems arrogant and confrontational. Loki isn’t inherently bad, but he struggles to connect with others – even his brother and father. However, the people of Elbaf view him as a villain primarily because they believe he killed his father. While the details surrounding King Harald’s death are still unclear, the story suggests Harald was actually killed by Imu’s Domi Reversi technique. Loki likely defeated his father either to protect himself or to end his suffering. This raises the question of why Loki hasn’t tried to explain what happened and clear his name, instead choosing to remain imprisoned for six years. There are clearly still secrets to be revealed about Loki and his past, and we haven’t yet heard the complete story.
The God Valley Incident Comes to Light
An Event That Would Change the One Piece World Forever
Although we learned some details about the God Valley Incident during the Egghead Arc, Elbaf fully reveals the story, including the key people involved, what caused it, and how it shaped events later in the series.
The Native Hunting Competition’s grand prize is revealed to be Shakky, which sets off both the Rocks Pirates and the Roger Pirates to rescue her. However, the real reason Rocks attacked is because the World Government just announced the capture of members from the Davey Clan – a family including Rocks’ father, grandmother, wife, and son – after 800 years of no known captures.
We finally learn Dragon’s history: he was a marine stationed on the island when the tragic events unfolded. He disagreed with the unfair Native Hunting Competition and took a stand, trying to rescue Shanks and Shamrock as their mother was dying. In the process, he even stunned a World Noble who was about to shoot a young Kuma. While Shanks managed to escape the World Nobles, Dragon was hurt by Satchels Maffey and couldn’t save Shamrock.
Things took a crazy turn when Imu suddenly showed up on the island, possessing Saturn! It totally shocked Garp, Roger, and even Rocks. And get this – apparently Kaido actually stole Big Mom’s prized fruit, the Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu! She was planning on giving it to Katakuri, but Kaido beat her to it. Can you believe it?
We’re still uncovering details about this event, but the recent chapters have revealed a wealth of information about one of the most important moments in One Piece’s story.
