Okay, so I’m a big RPG fan, and one of the things I always look for is a good romance option. I was checking out Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, and it does have characters you can get close to. But honestly, it’s not quite the romance I was hoping for. These are vampires, after all, so their idea of a relationship isn’t exactly hearts and flowers – it’s…different. It’s a nice addition, but don’t expect a typical love story.
In Bloodlines 2, you can romance seven different characters as Phyre, but building those relationships requires careful conversation choices.
Is There Romance in Bloodlines 2?
While it’s technically possible to form close bonds in the game, Bloodlines 2 doesn’t offer traditional undead romance options. You can definitely get close and intimate with characters like Phyre and their love interest, but the game doesn’t define their relationships with labels.
In this game, relationships develop into a unique form of intimacy called “romantic feeding,” where both characters lovingly share with each other. While your chosen partner will show you more affection, that’s generally the extent of the romantic options in Bloodlines 2.
All Romance Options in VTMB2

- Safia
- Silky
- Fletcher
- Patience
- Mrs. Thorn
- Onda
- Niko
As a huge fan of Bloodlines 2, I was really excited to learn that six of the potential romance options are also the leaders – or Primogens – of their clans! Basically, you’ll meet these powerful vampires as you play through the story anyway, since they’re important figures in the vampire world. It’s a cool way to naturally build relationships with them, and maybe even more than just a friendship!
Okay, so everyone else seems pretty standard, but Safia really stands out! She’s a vampire researcher who works for Prince Ryong at Weaver Tower, but she’s not one of the older, more established vampires like the others. And honestly, out of all the potential love interests in Bloodlines 2, she’s by far the sweetest and most loving. I think she’s easily the best character to romance – her personality is just so great, her dialogue is fantastic, and she actually feels really important to the overall story.
How to Romance Characters in Bloodlines 2
This game doesn’t have a gift-giving system to improve relationships. If you’re interested in a romantic connection with a character, you’ll need to flirt with them directly. When you visit characters in their usual locations, look for dialogue options with a kiss icon – those are your chances to try and build a romance.
Everyone you might become romantically involved with has a unique personality. If you don’t connect with someone, a relationship won’t develop. Saying the wrong thing or damaging your reputation can close off romantic possibilities. So, really listen to the person you’re talking to and try to understand what makes them tick.
To unlock a romantic scene with any of the six main characters, you’ll need to flirt with them three times. As you play through the story of Bloodlines 2, you’ll get more chances to do so.
Safia is a particularly compassionate vampire. She’s more empathetic than most of her kind, and responding to her with kindness will earn her affection. However, any connection you have with her will likely remain a close friendship, nothing more.
