This year, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle became a huge anime success. From the moment it was announced, fans predicted it would be a blockbuster, potentially even surpassing previous Demon Slayer films – and it did! The movie exceeded all expectations and continues to perform incredibly well months after its release. It’s clear Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle deserves all the acclaim it’s received, but box office numbers don’t always capture the complete picture.

Even though Demon Slayer Infinity Castle earned more money, that doesn’t automatically make it the better film. Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc came out a few months later and was a truly amazing experience. Comparing these two excellent movies isn’t really fair, but Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc deserves just as much praise – praise that has often been lost due to Demon Slayer’s financial success. When it comes to quality, Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc is clearly the superior film and the best anime release of 2025.

As the US release of Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc approaches, fans are eager to learn how the movie adapts a popular and heartbreaking story from the Chainsaw Man series. Plus, the music is perfect, and I think Tatsuki Fujimoto is a genius when it comes to creating characters. They feel so real and complex – I haven’t seen character writing like that in ages!

Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc Still Can’t Beat Infinity Castle’s Numbers At Box Office

Chainsaw Man Franchise Isn’t As Big As Demon Slayer

While many fans consider the Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc movie to be superior, it’s unlikely to match the commercial success of Demon Slayer. Demon Slayer has become a massive cultural force, especially after Mugen Train, and is a much larger franchise than Chainsaw Man. It’s expected to consistently outperform Chainsaw Man in box office revenue.

While the statistics are interesting, it’s best to watch the films and form your own opinion. Ultimately, both movies are incredibly enjoyable, though they offer very different experiences. Anime fans are fortunate to have two such fantastic films released in the same year, and we can only hope 2026 brings another year as strong as 2025.
