Fans are buzzing with excitement over the upcoming release of a new color page for Jujutsu Kaisen later this week, marking the official return of creator Gege Akutami. While Akutami writes the story, the artwork is done by Yuji Iwasaki. Akutami is also known for writing Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo.

Good news for fans! Yuji Itadori is officially still alive in the JJK Modulo storyline. This was revealed when Mahito appeared in Modulo after Tsurugi briefly experienced the afterlife. Mahito is currently stuck in a limbo state, waiting for Yuji to arrive. He initially mistook Tsurugi for Yuji, but was disappointed when he realized it wasn’t him. Because Mahito hasn’t met Yuji and remains in limbo, it’s clear Yuji hasn’t died and hasn’t entered that realm. This strongly suggests Yuji will return to the JJK Modulo manga, though he’ll likely be older than when we last saw him. It’s only a matter of time before Yuji Itadori reappears.

Akutami says the idea for “Mojuro” started with just a small inspiration. It took many planning sessions to develop, but it eventually became a real project. It’s planned as a short series, lasting about six months and collected into around three volumes.

Jujutsu Kaisen is a hugely popular action manga that recently finished its original run in late 2024. You can still read the complete series online for free on Manga Plus, where new chapters used to be released every week. Now, a sequel series called Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is being published in Weekly Shonen Jump. Chapter 9 of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is scheduled to come out on November 2, 2025, and will also be available to read for free on Manga Plus.
