As a longtime reader, I can confidently say Weekly Shonen Jump is one of the most influential manga magazines of all time. I’ve watched so many incredible series launch and finish within its pages – think classics like Dragon Ball, Naruto, Bleach, and more recent hits like Jujutsu Kaisen and My Hero Academia. Recently, another series that called Weekly Shonen Jump home, Black Clover, has announced its ending. It’s particularly notable because Black Clover actually started as a replacement for Naruto about ten years ago, and then moved to Jump GIGA.
The next chapter of Black Clover is being called its ‘Super Climax,’ which usually signals the end of a manga series. While fans are understandably upset to see it finishing, there’s good news for anime viewers: the anime adaptation, which has been delayed for years, can now finally move forward with this final arc.
Black Clover Manga Is Reaching Its End

- MHA and JJK Used The Same Term At Their End
Around ten years ago, Black Clover quickly became a very popular manga. Debuting shortly after Naruto finished, it reminded many fans of the ninja series and was often seen as its successor.
Black Clover has become incredibly popular, known by anime and manga fans worldwide. However, despite its success, many believe it didn’t fully live up to its potential. Frequent, long breaks in the manga’s release schedule, caused by the author’s health issues, significantly impacted the series, ultimately leading to a years-long pause in the anime’s production.
2025 has been a great year for Black Clover fans! The series creator, Yuki Tabata, is back and releasing new chapters regularly. Excitingly, the upcoming chapter is being teased as a ‘Super Climax.’
Many Black Clover fans know the series is in its final story arc, and it looks like the end is near. The phrase “Super Climax” is typically reserved for the very last parts of a manga, and other popular series like My Hero Academia and Jujutsu Kaisen used it right before their conclusions last year.
The Black Clover manga will likely finish before the end of 2025, depending on how quickly the author, Tabata, works and how many chapters he has planned. However, it seems very likely that only one chapter remains.
What This Means For The Black Clover Series
With The Manga Ending, the Anime Can Finally Go All Out

The upcoming end of the Black Clover manga is bittersweet. On the one hand, it means the series will finally finish instead of being stuck on indefinite break, and fans will get to see how the decade-long story wraps up. However, with only one to three chapters left, it’s likely the ending will feel rushed and may not satisfy everyone.
Now that the manga has finished, the anime is free to adapt the entire story. The anime had paused production before because it ran out of source material, but with the manga complete, a full adaptation is possible. Plus, a second season of Black Clover has already been announced, and fans are eagerly anticipating what’s next for the series in 2026.
Even though Black Clover hasn’t released new episodes in a while, there’s still a lot to watch! You can find all available episodes on Crunchyroll, which is the leading anime streaming service. When Season 2 comes out, it will also be available there. If you can’t wait for the anime to continue, the Black Clover manga is a great option – and it’s still being updated regularly! You can read it on Manga Plus.
