One Piece: Oda Reveals A Character Even Stronger Than The Pirate King

This article contains spoilers from One Piece’s Elbaf arc.

Recently, One Piece has been consistently amazing, and the current arc focusing on the battle at God Valley shows no signs of slowing down. Now that Imu has defeated Rocks D. Xebec, fans are anticipating an epic fight that will likely generate huge excitement within the One Piece community. This upcoming battle will also reveal a character even more powerful than the Pirate King, potentially reaching the legendary status of Davy Jones.

The character revealed is Rocks D. Xebec, also known as Davy D. Xebec, widely considered the strongest pirate from 40 years ago in the world of One Piece. Chapter 1163 showed him battling Imu, and while he put up a significant fight, he ultimately lost. Imu defeated him using the Domi Reversi technique, and now Roger and Garp must confront a power even greater than the Pirate King’s.

Domi Reversi’d Rocks D. Xebec Is Above Pirate King Level

Rocks Was Already Strong Enough To Effortlessly Beat the Admirals

  • Rocks is stronger than Roger and Garp
  • Garp and Roger had to team up to beat him

For hundreds of years, no one in the world of One Piece had ever reached the final island, Laugh Tale, and found the legendary treasure, the One Piece. Roger was the first to achieve this, and he also visited Lodestar Island a year before the battle at God Valley. As the Pirate King, Roger was undeniably the strongest pirate of his time, with only Whitebeard and Garp considered to be on the same level.

Mu? I shall do nothing! Thou shalt kill thy family, both wife and child! — Imu to Rocks D. Xebec

While Pirate King Roger was incredibly powerful, one character is believed to be even stronger: Rocks D. Xebec. Xebec was a formidable pirate in his own right, and a true rival to Roger. Sengoku even stated that Rocks was Roger’s greatest opponent, suggesting they were evenly matched. Although it’s impossible to definitively say who was more powerful, it’s clear that Rocks D. Xebec and Gol D. Roger were pirates of comparable strength.

After Rocks was affected by Domi Reversi in God Valley, his strength surpassed both Roger and Garp. Domi Reversi is explicitly shown to massively increase the power of those it affects, granting them an immortal body and incredible strength. Oda depicts this as a huge power boost, meaning Rocks, after experiencing Domi Reversi, became even more powerful than the Pirate King, Roger.

Domi Reversi’d Rocks Is Still Weaker Than Imu

Imu Is One Piece’s Strongest

Even though Domi Reversi’d Rocks is more powerful than the Pirate King, Imu is still significantly stronger. It’s obvious Rocks isn’t strong enough to win against Imu. The fact that Imu can control Rocks from a distance, without even needing their physical body, proves just how much more powerful Imu is.

Okay, so after Imu, I genuinely think Domi Reversi Rocks is the most powerful character we’ve seen in One Piece so far. I’m leaving Joy Boy and Davy Jones out of it, though, because their full power is still a mystery!

As a child, I dreamed of creating a manga with an incredibly exciting climax. I wasn’t sure if I could pull it off! You can jump in now if you’re new, because from here on out… it’s going to be the grand adventure of ONE PIECE! I’m going to reveal all the secrets of this world! It’s going to be a thrilling ride, so please stick with me! — Eiichiro Oda, Creator of One Piece, 2022
