As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for MMORPGs, I can hardly contain my excitement about Amazon Games’ upcoming title, New World: Aeternum. Having delved into the original New World on its launch day last year, I was among the countless players who were captivated by the game’s unique blend of survival and MMO elements set in a fantastical 17th-century world.

Amazon Games has unveiled the open beta timelines for the game “New World: Aeternum”, inviting gamers on PC, PS5, and Xbox to try out the game before its official launch this year. This upcoming title, initially presented at Summer Game Fest in June, is an upgraded version of the previously PC-exclusive MMORPG called simply “New World”.

For the first time, Amazon unveiled its own AAA video game titled “New World” on September 28, 2021. This game is set in a magical reinterpretation of the 17th century and combines survival and MMO genres, inviting players to delve into the mysterious island of Aeternum. At launch, it attracted over 900,000 concurrent players on Steam, making it one of the most popular games at that moment. Regrettably, this initial excitement didn’t last long as player interest waned significantly in the subsequent months. Nevertheless, Amazon has continued to enhance the gaming experience with numerous quality-of-life updates and even introduced the “Rise of the Angry Earth” expansion, among other improvements.

The game, previously known by another name, is all set for a rebranding and relaunch under the title “New World: Aeternum” starting October 15. However, an open beta will kick off earlier on September 13 at 9 AM, running until September 16 at 9 AM. Players across North America, South America, Europe, and APAC regions on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S can get a sneak peek during this period. Preloading for the open beta starts on September 11 at 9 AM PT, making participation easy without any special requirements. Players are also invited to share their feedback about different aspects of the game to help developers improve the overall experience.

New World: Aeternum Open Beta Rewards

After diving into the New World: Aeternum closed beta in July, the creators promised an open beta brimming with “hidden riches, sinister mysteries, and eerie marvels.” Adventurers venturing across the Eternal Isle and reaching certain milestones can unlock unique rewards for the launch of New World: Aeternum. Among these rewards are the enchanting Aeternian Adventurer skin, which includes titles, gloves, shoes, leggings, hats, and chest armor to be earned at various levels. Notably, the rewards will be tied to the platform they’re earned on, so prizes obtained on PC can only be enjoyed on PC itself.

Moreover, during the open beta of “New World: Aeternum“, players can only advance up to level 30. The beta period serves to gauge player response and game performance, but for “New World: Aeternum” to thrive after its official release, it must offer substantial new content and improvements.
