Ripple Taps Coinbase, Industry Heavyweight, for Upcoming Major Event

As a seasoned crypto investor with over a decade of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that the speaker lineup for Ripple Swell 2024 is nothing short of impressive. Having closely followed Ripple’s journey, I am particularly excited about hearing from Brad Garlinghouse, who has been instrumental in driving Ripple’s mission to revolutionize cross-border payments. The recent developments in the Ripple-SEC lawsuit and the launch of the Ripple USD stablecoin have only added to my anticipation.

For the highly anticipated Ripple Swell 2024 conference in Miami, Florida (October 15-16), a stellar array of speakers from the blockchain, financial technology (fintech), and payments sectors have been announced by Ripple. Notable figures from these industries will be gracing this year’s event.

As a seasoned professional with years of experience in the financial industry, I am thrilled about the impressive lineup for Ripple Swell 2024. The speakers they have gathered are truly remarkable and have made significant contributions to their respective fields.

Initiating many of Ripple’s groundbreaking endeavors to modernize cross-border transactions through blockchain tech is Brad Garlinghouse, the CEO of Ripple. People look forward to his perspectives due to Ripple’s current legal developments with the SEC and the evolution of their stablecoin (RLUSD), as well as speculations about the company’s future plans.

As an analyst, I find it noteworthy that the ongoing legal dispute between Ripple and the SEC reached a significant turning point in August when Judge Torres significantly reduced the SEC’s initial demand by approximately 94%. This decision mandates Ripple to pay a $125 million civil penalty, thereby effectively bringing a close to this nearly four-year-long legal tussle.

The CEO of Ripple celebrated the decision as a triumph for Ripple, the sector, and legal precedence. He stated that the SEC’s obstacles towards the entire XRP community have been removed.

As a financial analyst, I’m thrilled to report that the Ripple USD (RLUSD) stablecoin is now live in a private beta phase, running concurrently on both the XRP Ledger and Ethereum Mainnet. This marks another significant stride in the development of this innovative digital asset.

Coinbase, industry heavyweights to speak at event

According to Ripple’s announcement, it’s anticipated that Philip Martin, who holds the position of Chief Security Officer at Coinbase, will be a featured speaker at the forthcoming Ripple Swell conference.

At the upcoming event, Sheila Bair – a former FDIC chair – is anticipated to contribute valuable insights, given her past roles. These include serving as the head of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and establishing the Systemic Risk Council as its inaugural chair.

At the event, a variety of speakers have been scheduled to appear, such as Adrienne Harris, Superintendent from the New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS); Francisco Maroto, who serves as the Global Head of Blockchain and Digital Assets at BBVA; and Tim McCourt, Senior Managing Director in charge of Equities, FX, and Alternative Products at CME Group.
