The soon-to-be-revealed Area 99 is a battlefield connected to Black Ops 6’s rotation. At present, there isn’t much verified data about this new combat zone, but rumors have provided some insight into what might be in store.

When is Area 99 coming to Warzone?

It’s been reported that details have surfaced about Area 99 going live simultaneously with Black Ops 6 Season 1. As of now, there’s no specified date for the initial live service season, but if whispers are accurate, you could get the new Warzone map at the onset of this first season.

As per HeyImAlaix’s report, Area 99 is set to take over Rebirth Island starting from Battlefield 6 Season 1, while Fortune’s Keep will continue to feature in the Resurgence playlist.

Developers

Based on the language in the promotional image for CoD Next, it can be inferred that Treyarch was responsible for creating the latest map. The phrase “new map premiere with Treyarch” suggests that the team behind Black Ops 6 also spearheaded the development of the new Warzone map.

On August 28 during CoD Next, there’s a strong possibility that Raven Software has a role in the new map since the Warzone promotional image includes “a deep dive into game features with Raven.”

How to watch reveal

You’ll want to tune into CoD Next on August 28 at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM BST to watch the Area 99 reveal. The devs are planning a major reveal at the highly-anticipated showcase for Black Ops 6.
