How to Prepare for the Veilwater Basin Ancient Spire

The Ancient Spire, located in the Veilwater Basin, is a challenging area for players around levels 35-45. It stands out because of its difficult puzzles and sections that take place underwater. The Veilwater Basin is mostly covered in water, so be sure to bring plenty of healing potions!

You can complete this area without items that boost your oxygen, but it will be difficult. It’s best to bring plenty of foods that increase your oxygen and also stock up on Health Potions and Bandages, just in case you start to drown or take damage from the environment.

Where to Find the Veilwater Basin Ancient Spire

The Ancient Spire in Veilwater Basin is right in the middle of the area, close to Lake Heartblood. The best way to get there is to start from the Albaneve Summits – Ancient Spire fast travel point. From there, look towards the southwest side of the lake to find the main entrance to the basin.

To reach Veilwater Basin in Enshrouded, you’ll need to use your best glider. Jump from the spire and fly towards the large castle nestled in the mountains. Glide directly into the castle, then follow the path leading further into the mountain – it will take you straight to the Passageway and into the Basin.

The cave ahead is filled with a dangerous mist called Shroud. Protect yourself by wearing armor that resists its effects and bringing some helpful items to stay safe.

How to Enter the Veilwater Basin Ancient Spire

The Ancient Spire in Veilwater Basin is unique – you can’t enter through the front door! Instead, you’ll need to swim underwater to get inside. The spire has four openings, one on each side, allowing you to approach from any direction. A Return Beacon is located near the center, and it will replenish your oxygen. When you see its gentle blue glow, swim towards it, refill your oxygen, and then enter the central portal. This teleporter will safely transport you to the first floor of the spire.

Veilwater Basin Ancient Spire – First Floor Walkthrough

The first floor of the Veilwater Basin Ancient Spire can be challenging. You’ll immediately encounter a hallway filled with electric traps. Pay close attention to how the sparks flow and move cautiously to prevent getting hurt.

A handful of enemies are on this floor. It’s best to fight them from far away or trick them into traps whenever you can – this will make the battles much simpler. Once you’ve dealt with these enemies, you’ll enter a room filled with spike traps. Watch carefully – the spikes rise and fall in a pattern, so you can avoid getting hurt if you time your movements right.

Once past the spikes, head to the next door, which will take you to a metal climbing wall.

Veilwater Basin Ancient Spire – Second Floor Walkthrough

Once you get to the second floor, be prepared for a challenge! It’s filled with fire traps, enemies, and a puzzle that opens a silver chest. Right away, you’ll see fireballs shooting from the walls – one in the middle and one on each side. The key to getting through safely is to move back and forth, dodging between the fireballs. At the end of the hallway, use a double jump or a quick glide to land safely on the other side.

After getting past the fireballs, turn right. You’ll find a room with a locked door that requires you to solve a lever puzzle to open. First, though, you’ll need to defeat the enemies patrolling the area. Once they’re dealt with, you can safely approach and interact with the Lever Puzzle.

To open the door on the second floor, you need to set the levers to match the pattern shown by the golden bricks above them. Only flip the levers that line up with the filled-in bricks – leave the others alone. If you get the pattern right, the door will unlock instantly, letting you continue on your way.

Veilwater Basin Ancient Spire – Third Floor Walkthrough

Once you’ve reached the third floor of the Veilwater Basin Ancient Spire, go north and cautiously make your way across the first row of spikes. You’ll see a climbable grate on your right, but hold off on going there for now. Your priority is to locate the three hidden buttons first.

The first button is found at the far end of the corridor. Move toward the west from the corridor’s end, keeping an eye on the hazards along the way. Once you’ve pressed the button, return to the path and continue navigating past the spikes.
The second button lies along the southwest path. Cross the spikes carefully, run toward the southern end, then bend west again to find the button. Timing your jumps and glides is crucial to avoid damage from the traps scattered across the floor.
The third and final button is located in a room with active electricity traps. Look for an alcove in the southwest of this room, and press the button there.

After pressing all three buttons, return to the metal grate and continue along the path. Turn left when you reach the corner. Then, jump and swing across the gap to get to the higher area. Be careful – you’ll encounter swinging axes, so wait until each axe swings fully to the left before proceeding.

Once you’re moving to the left and the way is clear, jump twice to reach the platform on the right. You’ll see the final door open ahead. There’s a swing in the middle, but you’ll likely need to fly a short distance to get through the door.

Veilwater Basin Ancient Spire – Fourth Floor Walkthrough

You’ve reached the top of the Veilwater Basin Ancient Spire! On the fourth floor, begin by heading through the door on the southeast side. This will lead you down a long hallway. As you walk, you’ll see another door on the southwest side – remember that one for later.

I’m continuing east, and I’ve come to a split in the path. There’s a staircase going up to the south, but I need to head through the eastern corridor first – it has an electricity trap, so I’m being careful! I’m sticking close to the north wall to dodge the shocks, then turning right. There’s a button on the floor I stepped on, and it opened the door ahead. Now I see a spinning spike trap in the distance, but I managed to shoot an arrow right through the spikes to hit a button on the other side. It worked! A door just opened above me, which is great.

Go back to the stairs on the south side and head up. You’ll find another set of stairs there, but both sets lead to the same landing above. Once you’re up top, you’ll notice two doors ahead on the north wall. The most important thing to focus on is the pool of water right in front of those doors.

To open the doors, you’ll need to dive down a long, winding tunnel. You can reach the bottom with a single breath of air (it takes about 30 seconds), but it might take a few attempts to memorize the path. Swim quickly downwards, being careful to avoid the spinning blades. Once you reach the bottom, press the button to replenish your oxygen supply.

Activating this will start the rotating blades, so watch your step when you return. Don’t worry if you fall – you’ll reappear safely at the start, and your belongings will be near the water.

Okay, so I figured out that hitting that button underwater actually opens a door I walked by earlier! I had to go back down the stairs, then west, and check out the room. Inside, there was another button, and pressing that one opened a second door underwater. It’s getting pretty interesting now!

Dive back into the water and explore again. You’ll discover a new underwater path leading north. Swim through it, carefully avoiding the spinning blades, and you’ll reach a Golden Chest. Collect the treasure and then swim back to the surface.

Once you’re prepared, go through the doors that have just unlocked at the top of the stairs and interact with the flame. This will finish the spire and unlock the Veilwater Basin Stargazer achievement.
