You’ll have to defeat formidable dragons, overcome harsh weather conditions, and when you reach the Pagoda area, you’ll encounter an annoying curse-based gameplay element as well.
However, these are all minor inconveniences compared to the bosses that await you in the Pagoda region. The player will face up against four different captains of this realm, and the first many players will face off against is Captain Lotus-Vision.
A demanding supervisor who employs an array of high-powered beams or missiles to keep employees in check. Yet, numerous previous supervisors have unsuccessfully attempted this tactic, suggesting that we too can defeat this latest adversary.
Where Is Captain Lotus-Vision?
Captain Lotus-Vision can be found right next to the Upper Pagoda Shrine. After resting at this shrine, if players look over the ledge while walking backwards, they’ll spot a red-roofed area below that houses a challenging boss and an army of motionless minions.
Make sure to jump onto the rooftop to minimize fall-related harm as much as possible. Once you step into the battlefield, combat ensues immediately.
How To Prepare For Captain Lotus-Vision
1. Essential to grasp before engaging in this battle is the health depletion feature specific to the Pagoda Region. You may have noticed that occasionally, when you’re there, your character’s eyes turn red, indicating a decrease in their health level to half its original amount.
Here’s a friendly reminder from Black Myth: Wukong that this game is all about pushing your limits and keeping you on your toes!
Here’s what you should do: Hang out at the Upper Pagoda Keeper Shrine for now, since the curse will be lifted after a while. For those who aren’t aware, this works on a timer of approximately 1.5 minutes. Once your vision returns to normal, take a break at the Shrine and then jump down to the battlefield below.
Regarding your defense strategy against Captain Lotus Vision’s laser attacks, it’s challenging to implement a particular tactic. However, enhancing your strength and agility could be beneficial for dodging or withstanding the attacks.
I would suggest strong weapons and armor like the Ochre Armor Set and the Loongwreathe Staff for this fight, and I would also suggest the Wandering Wight Spirit and Agate Jar Curio for added defense.
If you happen to possess any items that boost your endurance, it would be perfectly suited for this battle. Maintaining the ability to dodge often becomes crucial if you aim to survive throughout this confrontation.
How To Beat Captain Lotus-Vision
I’ll be frank with you; the Captain Lotus Vision Fight is a cheap one where doing all the right things will not necessarily guarantee success, as it’s not the best-designed fight within the game, as there are a lot of unfair stunlocks, hardly any clear telegraphs before attacks, and plenty of attacks that can one-shot you.
However, if you know the choreography of this fight, you give yourself the best chance.
The battle kicks off as the Captain unleashes his three-shot magical volley. Keep an eye out for these bursts, dodge thrice, and you’ll get a chance to retaliate first. This moment also presents an opportunity to cast the immobilizing spell and deal some heavy blows.
After that, they will vanish from your sight and shift to an unpredictable part of the room. It’s crucial for you to close the distance swiftly as they can become challenging to foresee and dodge laser attacks at a distance. Additionally, their previously mentioned three-pronged projectiles make them even more formidable.
The course of the fight will proceed as follows: You’ll need to reduce their health to approximately 60%. Once that happens, they’ll vanish and reappear right in the center of the room, levitating above the ground. At this point, they’ll gather immense magical energy and unleash potent laser attacks from their position in mid-air.
Four individual laser shots will be fired, followed by a powerful four-beam convergence that could prove lethal to any target. While you can endure the singular lasers, being struck by the merged beam could spell your doom.
You may consider concealing yourself behind a pillar for safety. However, let me spare you some disappointment: since the beams pass through the pillars, there will be no shielding or protection provided.
Following this segment, the Captain will place four magical crystals at the edges of the battleground. These crystals emit lasers that function similarly to tripwires on the battlefield. To navigate this part safely, consider it a game of skipping rope – if the player stands in the center of the arena and leaps appropriately three times, they should be able to progress without taking any damage.
Following this sequence, there will be a temporary respite where things revert back to how they were at the onset of the battle. However, soon enough, you’ll feel the urge to go on the attack once more. Once their health drops to just about 20%, they’ll make one final stand.
In this scenario, enemies are using lasers and missiles that home in on them. To dodge these attacks, move towards the wall nearest to your entrance and follow it closely until the attack phase ends.
Following this, I can launch another attack to finally defeat them decisively. Remember, perfecting the art of timing your evasive maneuvers is crucial. Seize every opportunity to strike back when it arises, and victory shall be yours in the skirmish.
Keep in mind that you only have about 1 minute and 30 seconds left before the health drain curse takes effect on the boss. I noticed it started at around the time they completed their final laser attack, so once that concludes, you’ll need to act swiftly and aggressively to finish off the battle as quickly as possible.
