As a dedicated fan of Jujutsu Kaisen, I must say that the demise of Sukuna was nothing short of thrilling. After following his reign of terror and manipulation for so long, it was truly satisfying to witness him finally meet his match in Yuji Itadori.

In the final stretch of Jujutsu Kaisen, the much-anticipated Shinjuku Showdown Arc has concluded, bringing an end to the largest conflict seen in the series so far. This arc allowed viewers to witness the most powerful characters engage in battle and demonstrate their full potential. Most notably, fans got to see Ryomen Sukuna, the Curse King, at his absolute best, a sight that lived up to all expectations.
In contrast, with JJK chapter 268, Ryomen Sukuna’s remarkable winning streak has come to an end, and it became apparent in this chapter that he ultimately lost the fight. Not surprisingly, it was the main character of the series, Yuji, who emerged victorious, as many fans had anticipated all along.

The fight between Yuji and Sukuna was certainly a very exciting one. This battle was kick-started after the death of the strongest modern sorcerer, Gojo Satoru. Yuji Vs Sukuna was intense, but, at the same time, it must also be said that it was not the spectacle that the fight that preceded it was. Still, it was good enough for the fans to invest countless hours into it, and, at the same time, it certainly did deliver some absolutely majestic moments. Above all, this battle was great for Yuji Itadori, as he got the opportunity to showcase how he had grown in the story, and how he had now become a sorcerer capable of fighting even the King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna. At the same time, Yuji also showcased enough powers to not just combat but also overwhelm the King of Curses with his newfound abilities.

Yuji displayed abilities like the Reverse Cursed Skill, defensive strategies, and he also unveiled two inherent techniques. One of these was Blood Control, acquired by consuming Death Paintings numbers 4 to 9, and the other was the Shrine Cursed Technique, which he inherited because he shares a body with Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses.
The confrontation between Yuji and Sukuna was thrilling for spectators, particularly as it neared its climax. True to anticipation, Yuji unveiled a potent domain, integrating his inherent ability into his fortification. The specifics of Yuji’s domain continue to elude fans, but it’s clear that this expansion was formidable and significantly amplified his stats. Within the domain, Yuji held the upper hand, and his technique execution was bolstered by Megumi Fushiguro regaining consciousness simultaneously with Kugisaki Nobara dealing a strong Resonance strike against Sukuna, the Curse King.
Ultimately, Yuji Itadori finished off the King of Curses with a massive Black Flash punch right to his abdomen. This blow was so forceful it shattered him in combat and sent him flying away. The strike was so intense that Sukuna burst through Yuji’s barrier, freeing itself entirely from Megumi’s body, effectively expelling the fingers it had consumed.

In a last-ditch effort, Sukuna sought dominion over Megumi’s physical form, as portrayed in chapter 268 of JJK. Rather than living a life tainted with shame, as Sukuna suggested to Megumi, he instead chose to let himself be overcome. Tragically, he also took the life of his own sister during this takeover. He spurned a friend’s assistance and discarded an offered helping hand. Moreover, he killed his own teacher, and these deeds are unforgivable acts. Surprisingly, Megumi refused Sukuna’s proposition.
After witnessing Yuji’s remarkable determination and effort to rescue him, Megumi found renewed will to carry on living. Unfortunately for Sukuna, his last try to seize control over Megumi Fushiguro was unsuccessful.

Due to the unsuccessful effort, Sukuna was torn from his physical self and existed in a gooey state instead. This slimy form was actually Sukuna’s original shape after enduring countless years using various techniques. Eventually, Sukuna acknowledged that he had been defeated and understood it was now time for him to be destroyed.
After enduring years of mistreatment, Yuji finally had the chance to gaze down upon his tormentor, an event that left spectators spellbound. What added to the intrigue was that Sukuna, in reality, turned out to be a pitiful figure, completely devoid of dignity and pride at the climax.

In the Shinjuku Showdown Arc of Jujutsu Kaisen, it was Sukuna who met his end. When torn from Megumi’s body, Sukuna found himself in a state of terror, as he had never before experienced being hunted rather than being the hunter. This feeling was entirely foreign to him, as he had always done as he pleased – eating when he wished, sleeping when he desired, and destroying whenever his desires called for it. However, this time around, Sukuna realized his powerlessness, causing a drastic change in his character. Overwhelmed with fear, Sukuna was forced to surrender his life to Yuji.
In a surprising turn of events, Yuji Itadori refused to take Sukuna’s life. Instead, he extended an olive branch, inviting him to join him and experience the wonders of life for the first time as a human. However, Sukuna was not inclined towards this change. In the end, Sukuna chose to uphold his cursed nature, scorning Yuji’s humanity. He met his demise, drenched in the pool of his own fear, shame, and disappointment.
In the finale of “Jujutsu Kaisen”, Sukuna experienced an unfortunate demise that, while somewhat fitting, seemed excessively hurried. Despite this character’s significance, Sukuna deserved a more substantial conclusion. Particularly, Yuji was deprived of a more impressive showdown against the Curse King. Considering the author’s health complications likely hastened the series’ end, the climactic fight was disappointingly brief. Readers can only anticipate that future chapters will compensate for this lackluster ending in some way. Now that the Shinjuku battle has concluded, the last three installments of “Jujutsu Kaisen” will delve into a comprehensive look at Japan, illustrating how the world has transformed and setting expectations for the continuing narrative.
