Cardano (ADA) Hard Fork Surprisingly Welcomed by Polkadot (DOT)

As a seasoned analyst with extensive experience in the cryptocurrency sphere, I must admit that seeing Cardano (ADA) successfully activate the Chang network upgrade was a significant milestone. It’s a testament to the determination and hard work of the ADA community and the team behind it.

The Cardano (ADA) blockchain, one of the largest using Proof-of-Stake (PoS), has successfully activated the Chang network upgrade. This step facilitates the transition to self-governance and enhances its performance. Polkadot (DOT) blockchain sent a cryptic message congratulating its competitors.

Polkadot (ADA) team congratulates Cardano (ADA) on Chang, hints at Kusama (KSM)

The Polkadot network (DOT) has announced its welcome for Cardano’s (ADA) transition to the Voltaire epoch with an excited tweet.

Welcome to the world of on-chain governance!

Representatives from Polkadot (DOT) expressed their admiration and congratulations towards Cardano (ADA), acknowledging the successful implementation of a 100% on-chain governance system, which is now managed by the ADA community.

The Polkadot (DOT) group has adopted a motto known as “Expect Chaos,” reminiscent of the philosophy commonly linked to Kusama (KSM). This is often referred to as Polkadot’s “sibling chain” or “canary network,” meaning that both chains share some similar characteristics but are distinct entities.

Since the report from U.Today earlier, it’s been known that Cardano (ADA) and Polkadot (DOT) have been collaborating since Q4, 2023. In this collaboration, Cardano (ADA) is incorporating Substrate, a framework linked to Polkadot (DOT).

Cardano’s developers used a collection of interchangeable building blocks, referred to as “pallets,” to harness the capabilities of associated blockchain networks and facilitate their mutual functionality.

ADA price fails to react on Chang activation

As an analyst, I appreciate the warm reception that the Cardano (ADA) community received from the Polkadot (DOT) community. It’s intriguing to consider this as a possible sign of potential collaboration between these two communities.

According to U.Today’s report, the highly anticipated upgrade named “Chang” was finally activated by Cardano (ADA) on September 1, 2024. This update honors Phil Inje Chang, a former product manager at IOG who passed away.

The third version of Plutus, a hard fork, introduces advanced cryptographic functions, boosts performance, optimizes contract efficiency, but most significantly, it establishes a system for community governance.

Simultaneously, the price of Cardano (ADA) didn’t manage to halt its descent. Over the past week, it dropped more than 10%, placing it among the poorest performers in the major altcoin category.
