How to Start A Sorta Scary Cemetery Story

I found a pretty cool side quest called “A Sorta Scary Cemetery Story.” You start it by finding Horace near the east entrance of the map. If you don’t see the little quest icon where the screenshot shows, don’t worry – you probably just need to get a bit further in the main story first before it pops up.

Horace shares a rumor he’s heard from couriers: a gravestone in the Dormez Bien Cemetery seems to shift at night. But this only occurs under specific circumstances, which are:

  • It has to be nighttime.
  • You can only have one Pokemon with you.
  • You have to enter the cemetery from the northern gate.
  • You have to say these magic words in your head: Solitary solo cemeteries are sorta scary.

A Sorta Scary Cemetery Story Walkthrough

The Dormez Bien Cemetery is situated within the grounds that also contain the old church, the blacksmith, the general store, and the mill, a little southeast of Horace’s location.

To start the “A Sorta Scary Cemetery Story” side quest, here’s what you need to do:

  • Rest at a bench to change the time of day to nighttime (there’s one at the Pokecenter nearby).
  • Deposit all of your Pokemon except one in your Box.
  • Enter from Wild Zone 4’s northern entrance.
  • If all previous conditions are met, you will see prompts to select the correct passphrase. Choose the following options:
    • Solitary…
    • Solo…
    • Cemeteries are…
    • Sorta…
    • Scary!

A short video will begin, and you’ll face a group of Pokemon, all at level 75. You’ll need to defeat them using your own Pokemon team to finish the quest.

Strong Dark-type Pokémon at level 75 or higher, such as Tyranitar, Hydreigon, or Weavile, will easily defeat Greavard and Houndstone.

You cannot catch the Greavard and Houndstone that attack you during A Sorta Scary Cemetery Story.
