CI Games showcased new gameplay for Lords of the Fallen 2 at The Game Awards 2025. The highly anticipated Soulslike game is set to launch in 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Lords of the Fallen 2 continues the story of the original Lord of the Fallen from 2023, challenging players to overcome difficult enemies and explore two interconnected worlds.
Okay, so this isn’t the first time I’ve seen stuff about Lords of the Fallen 2. CI Games actually showed it off at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live way back in August. They dropped this really intense cinematic trailer that definitely got my attention. A lot of us were hyped for a sequel, but honestly, we were all dying to see some actual gameplay. Good news is, it looks like the developers heard us, and they finally delivered! I’m really excited to see what this game is going to be like.
Lords of the Fallen 2 Reveals Official Gameplay
CI Games recently unveiled a new trailer for Lords of the Fallen 2 at The Game Awards, offering fans their first look at gameplay for the eagerly awaited Soulslike title. Players who enjoyed the original game will find themselves exploring both the world of the living and the realm of the dead once more, but with a host of new additions. The sequel introduces new finishing moves and a dismemberment system, promising a more intense and visceral experience. The trailer showcased three imposing bosses: the heavily armored Heartroot Warden, the mirror-wielding Koydreth, and the massive dragon Lingao the Souring Storm. While a firm release date wasn’t revealed, CI Games confirmed that the game is still on track for a 2026 launch.

It’s hard for any game to reach the quality of titles from FromSoftware, the creators of games like Bloodborne and Elden Ring, but several have come close. 2023 was a strong year for the ‘Souls-like’ genre, with Lords of the Fallen and Lies of P both gaining a lot of attention. Now, CI Games, the developer of Lords of the Fallen, is building on that success with a sequel that promises even more challenging enemies, improved combat, and unique bosses to test even veteran players.

As a big fan of Lords of the Fallen, I was really excited to hear that CI Games just dropped a huge update for the 2023 game! It’s great to have some new stuff to dive into while we all eagerly wait for the sequel. This 2.5 update is a game-changer, especially the new Veteran Mode. Honestly, it looks tough – even for players like me who think they’ve mastered the game. The bosses have completely leveled up with faster moves, new attacks, and they’re way more aggressive! You’ll have to start a new save to try Veteran Mode, and you can’t switch back to Legacy Mode once you pick it. Also, if you’re planning on playing with friends, make sure you’re both in the same mode. With this update keeping us busy and the sequel coming in 2026, it’s a fantastic time to be a Lords of the Fallen fan!
