Dead Island 3 is Aiming to Release in 2028, Says Dambuster Studios

Dambuster Studios, a game developer based in the UK, now expects to launch Dead Island 3 between April and October of 2028, according to their latest financial report.

So, I was reading the latest financial report (big thanks to Timur222 for sharing!), and it sounds like Dambuster Studios is going all-in on Dead Island 3! Once they finish up the versions of Dead Island 2 for Luna and Mac, all 194 developers are going to be working on it. I’m really excited to see what they come up with!

According to a new report, development of Dead Island 3 is underway, with designers rapidly progressing on the game’s features, characters, world, and story.

The game is expected to launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X, PC, and future consoles anticipated to be available by the end of 2028.

Dead Island 3 New Location

This isn’t the first time that we’ve heard of Dead Island 3 from Dambuster Studios, though.

The studio recently marked 14 years since the first game was released, and announced that its sequel has reached a remarkable 20 million players.

The announcement hinted the story isn’t finished, sharing a picture of a character departing Los Angeles. This suggests the next game will take place in a new setting.

A former developer for Dead Island 2 recently explained the problems that led to the game’s long and troubled development. It took about ten years to make the game, with multiple studios working on it and several missed deadlines.
