Overwatch 2 Brings Back Avatar: The Last Airbender Collab

The world of Avatar: The Last Airbender has returned to Overwatch 2! Players now have another opportunity to unlock six unique character skins inspired by the show: Aang as Zenyatta, Appa as Orisa, Katara as Mei, Toph as Venture, Suki as Kiriko, and Zuko as Genji. Until December 29th, you can earn the Katara Mei skin by completing challenges in the game, or you can buy all six Avatar: The Last Airbender skins directly from the Overwatch 2 shop.

Starting December 17, 2024, Overwatch 2 launched a special collaboration with Avatar: The Last Airbender as part of Season 14. This event included six new skins – four Legendary and two Epic – which turned Overwatch 2 heroes into Aang and his friends.

Overwatch 2 x Avatar: The Last Airbender Returns

I’m so excited! The Avatar: The Last Airbender stuff is back in Overwatch 2! If you missed out last year, you have another chance to grab those awesome skins until December 30th. You can buy each one separately for 1900 Overwatch Coins (Suki’s Kiriko skin is a little cheaper at 1000), or get a bundle with extra goodies like highlight intros and emotes for 2600 (2200 for Kiriko). If you want everything, there’s a Mega Bundle for 5700 Coins. Seriously, these skins are amazing and I don’t want to miss out this time!

  • Aang Zenyatta
  • Zuko Genij
  • Toph Venture
  • Suki Kiriko
  • Appa Orisa
  • Mei Katara (Free through in-game challenges)

Plus, Overwatch 2 is offering challenges based on Avatar: The Last Airbender again! This gives players another chance to earn the free Katara Mei skin and a special Waterbending emote. You can unlock these rewards – and other *Avatar: The Last Airbenderthemed items like a Souvenir, Name Card, a unique title, Weapon Charms, Voice Lines, and 30,000 Battle Pass XP – by playing the game, dealing damage, providing healing, getting eliminations and assists, and using your ultimate abilities.

The new Avatar: The Last Airbender collaboration with Overwatch 2 doesn’t include any new character skins, which is a disappointment compared to the My Hero Academia event that added skins like Garou Wuyang and Hellish Blizzard Ashe. Players hoping for skins for characters like Sokka, Azula, Freja, or Wuyang inspired by the Avatar universe will need to wait and see if Blizzard creates a more substantial follow-up to this collaboration. On a positive note, the in-game challenges from the first Avatar event have returned, something that didn’t happen with the recent Transformers crossover.

Players can enjoy both the new Avatar: The Last Airbender challenges and the Winter Wonderland event in Overwatch 2 Season 20. Until January 6th, you can earn Winter Wonderland Cookies by completing daily challenges and playing special Winter Wonderland game modes like Mei’s Snowball Offensive, Yeti Hunt, and Mischief & Magic. These cookies can be used to unlock cosmetic items, Loot Boxes, or even skip Battle Pass tiers. Starting December 23rd, Mischief & Magic will get a festive Winter Wonderland update, giving Kiriko unique abilities based on her disguise. Plus, if you play 20 games this week, you can earn the popular Soldier 67 emote.
