In Pokémon Legends Z-A, the side mission ‘Awaken, Cofagrigus’ sends you into the sewers to find two Cofagrigus coffins. You’ll be searching for a missing character who has been taken by a Ghost-type Pokémon. This guide explains how to begin and finish Side Mission 171, so you can get the rewards.
How to Start the ‘Awaken, Cofagrigus!’ Mission in Pokemon Legends Z-A Mega Dimension
You need to complete the ninth main mission in the Hyperspace story before you can begin Side Mission 171. Once you’ve reached that point, find the Grunt standing outside the entrance to the Lumiose Sewers in the Magenta Sector, near the canal, and talk to them to start the quest.
The Grunt has been hearing someone screaming inside, so, of course, he sends you in to investigate.
How to Complete ‘Awaken, Cofagrigus’ in Pokemon Legends Z-A Mega Dimension
To finish the rescue mission and save the captured character, you need to explore the sewers and defeat all the Cofagrigus. Most are easy to spot, but one is hidden and might be tricky to find.
We’ll show you all of their locations so you can get out of the sewers fast.
First Cofagrigus
As soon as you go into the sewers, you’ll immediately spot a Cofagrigus. After a short scene, this Ghost-type Pokémon will appear right before you. Interact with it to discover an empty coffin.
Second Cofagrigus
Take a left after you smack the first one, and you’ll see a second coffin floating in the air.
Third Cofagrigus
Walk a few steps north in this central area to find the third one suspended in midair.
Fourth Cofagrigus
Head a short distance east from where you were to find another Cofagrigus hovering very high – almost at the ceiling. This one is likely the trickiest to see.
Fifth Cofagrigus
Go to the northwest room to find the fifth Cofagrigus. It’s in the center of the room, so it’s easy to spot. This one will battle you, and it’s level 75. You can defeat it quickly using Ghost or Dark-type attacks.
Sixth Cofagrigus
To find the final Cofagrigus, check the room in the southwest corner – it’s located in the left-hand corner inside.
The Reward for Finishing ‘Awaken, Cofagrigus’ in Pokemon Legends Z-A Mega Dimension
Once you free the NPC from Cofagrigus’s grasp, you’ll get the following as a reward:
- 5,200 Poke Dollars
- Shadow Punch TM
Shadow Punch is a Ghost-type move that does 60 damage. It has a 6-turn cooldown and allows the user to briefly hide in the shadows before quickly attacking the opponent.
