Naruto: 9 Characters Stronger Than Itachi Uchiha, Ranked

Itachi Uchiha was an incredibly powerful character throughout the entire Naruto series. Early on, he seemed nearly unbeatable, with very few opponents able to challenge him. He was strong enough to defeat even the Legendary Sanin – a group of famously powerful ninja – even if they fought him together.

As the Naruto series progressed, numerous other powerful ninja emerged. By the series’ conclusion, the creator, Kishimoto, stated that many characters surpassed Itachi Uchiha in strength.

Minato Namikaze

  • Position: 4th Hokage of Konoha
  • Specialty: Speed, Fuinjutsu

Minato, the Fourth Hokage of Konoha, was significantly more powerful than Itachi. Despite not reaching his full potential, he was incredibly strong and famously ended the Third Great Ninja War by himself.

Minato’s mastery of various sealing techniques, combined with his incredible skill with the Flying Thunder God, allowed him to defeat even the combined forces of Kurama and Obito. He also managed to unlock the power of Kurama and achieve Sage Mode during the war. Considering all of this, Minato was significantly more powerful than Itachi.

Might Guy

  • Position: Konoha Jonin
  • Specialty: Taijutsu

Might Guy is one of the best at fighting against the Uchiha clan’s Sharingan ability. Through years of battling Kakashi, he learned to evade the Sharingan simply by concentrating on his opponent’s feet.

Beyond his other skills, Guy was incredibly strong – very few fighters could match him. He even defeated Kisame, a powerful member of the Akatsuki, with a single blow while using the 7th Gate. Against Itachi, opening the 7th Gate would likely be enough for Guy to win, and using the 8th Gate would almost certainly defeat Itachi instantly.

Hashirama Senju

  • Position: First Hokage
  • Specialty: Chakra Reserves, Healing, Wood Release

Hashirama Senju, the First Hokage, is often called one of the most powerful ninjas of all time. His unique Wood Release ability, combined with his mastery of Sage Mode, made him incredibly strong – even strong enough to defeat Madara Uchiha in a fight. Because of this, he would easily defeat Itachi Uchiha in battle.

He was simply too powerful – his strength, chakra, and overall abilities were overwhelming. Adding to that, Hashirama could heal instantly, without needing to perform any hand signs, which made him nearly unbeatable.

Obito Uchiha

  • Position: Akatsuki Leader
  • Specialty: Chakra Reserves, Ten Tails, Mangekyo Sharingan

Obito Uchiha is an incredibly strong ninja who many fans don’t fully appreciate. Before gaining the Ten-Tails’ power, he was already a formidable opponent for Itachi. While Obito acknowledged that Itachi kept him grounded, that was before Obito obtained the Rinnegan.

Honestly, once Obito awakened the Rinnegan, it was pretty clear he surpassed Itachi in terms of power. But then, when he became the Ten Tails’ Jinchuriki? That’s when things really changed. He just reached a whole other level, easily overshadowing even all five Kage together – it was incredible!

Madara Uchiha

  • Specialty: Ten Tails Jinchuriki, Mangekyo Sharingan

Madara Uchiha was significantly more powerful than Itachi. He was a true legend, being the first ninja to awaken the Mangekyo Sharingan. He then took his brother’s eyes, allowing him to achieve the even stronger Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan.

Madara was a formidable opponent, able to fight on equal footing with Hashirama. He later became even more powerful, gaining the abilities of the Six Paths, which allowed him to exceed Hashirama’s strength. At his most powerful, Madara would easily defeat Itachi Uchiha in a fight.

Kakashi Hatake (Six Paths)

  • Position: Sixth Hokage of Konoha
  • Specialty: Mangekyo Sharingan, Six Paths Power

Kakashi Hatake and Itachi Uchiha fought once, and Itachi easily defeated Kakashi. Later in the series, Kakashi gained significant new abilities. During the Fourth Great Ninja War, he received Obito’s Six Paths Chakra and gained both of Obito’s Mangekyou Sharingan.

This made him strong enough to fight opponents like Kaguya. This version of Kakashi would decisively defeat Itachi in a fight, without question.

Sasuke Uchiha

  • Position: Other Hokage
  • Specialty: Rinnegan, Mangekyo Sharingan

It’s well known that Sasuke Uchiha eventually became stronger than his brother, Itachi. After Itachi’s death, Sasuke unlocked the Mangekyo Sharingan and then took Itachi’s eyes, allowing him to achieve the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan.

During the war, Sasuke gained a significant portion of Hagoromo’s power, which unlocked the Rinnegan for him. This made him far more powerful than Itachi had ever been. Now, as an adult, Sasuke is considered the strongest Uchiha of all time, surpassing Itachi by a considerable margin.

Naruto Uzumaki

  • Position: 7th Hokage
  • Specialty: 9 Tailed Beast Chakra, Six Paths Sage Mode, Jinchuriki

As a huge Naruto fan, I truly believe he’s one of the most powerful ninjas ever! Honestly, I think he’s the strongest shinobi the world has ever seen. That means, without a doubt, he surpasses even Itachi in terms of sheer power.

When Naruto reached his full power with Baryon Mode, he became strong enough to fight and defeat even god-like beings like Isshiki. Compared to that, defeating Itachi Uchiha would be easy for him.

Kaguya Otsutsuki

  • Specialty: Otsutsuki Power, Kekkei Mora Rinne Sharingan

Kaguya Otsutsuki is an incredibly powerful character – one of the strongest in the series – and would easily defeat Itachi in a fight. Despite Itachi’s own strength, he simply isn’t on Kaguya’s level.

She’s incredibly powerful – even with the combined strength granted by Hagoromo, Naruto and Sasuke couldn’t defeat her. Itachi, being a normal human, wouldn’t stand a chance against her.
