Plans for Battlefield 6 through 2026 are taking shape, including a solo mode for RedSec Battle Royale and improvements to the main multiplayer experience.

Battlefield is back and better than ever! After a period of needing a strong competitor, the latest installment delivers the large-scale military action fans have been waiting for. The initial launch, along with the introduction of RedSec and Season 1, has been a hit, and there are even more exciting updates planned for 2026.

2026 Battlefield 6 Roadmap Features New RedSec & Multiplayer Content

In a recent update for Battlefield 6, the developers addressed the community as the holidays began. They anticipate an increase in players over Christmas, jokingly referring to new players as ‘holiday newcomers,’ and expressed their gratitude for a successful year.

The blog post starts with a quick thank you to all the players – you deserve it! – and then shares some interesting statistics. Here’s a look at a few of them:

  • Played over 1.7 billion matches and logged 383.5 million gameplay hours.
  • Delivered 12.4 billion kills and 871 million revives.
  • Destroyed 102 million helicopters and jets.

Following a look at what the community has been up to, we moved on to discussing plans and expectations for 2026.

The team is working on improving the core gameplay, balancing the experience, and making general quality-of-life enhancements for Multiplayer, REDSEC, and Portal. They’re also adding new maps to create new strategies and keep the game feeling fresh, and plan to integrate more of the experimental features from Battlefield Labs into the main game.

Good news for Battle Royale fans! The team is still planning to add a solo mode to Battlefield, but they’re making sure it’s polished and meets their quality standards before announcing a release date. They’ll share more details as soon as they have a firm plan.

It’s not a guarantee that it’s happening, but its arrival is likely happening.
