The Silent Hill and Fatal Frame series, while created by different companies, have had similar paths recently. Both were incredibly popular Japanese survival horror games, but both also stopped releasing new games for a while – Silent Hill after 2012 and Fatal Frame after 2014. While Fatal Frame hasn’t gotten a completely new game like Silent Hill f, it’s been making a comeback with remasters and the upcoming Crimson Butterfly remake.

Mojang is kicking off 2026 with exciting new content for Minecraft. Although the name of the update hasn’t been announced yet, they’ve given players a sneak peek: adorable baby animal mobs! Minecraft already features baby versions of many creatures, but these new designs are extra cute and clearly different from the adults. Redesigned wolves, kittens, chicks, and other baby animals are already winning over fans, with some even hoping there was a way to keep their favorite creatures tiny forever.

As a huge Monopoly GO fan, I’m really excited about the Golden Snitch Dice Skin! It’s designed to really pop on your board. You can unlock it by completing the Harry Potter GO Prestige Album, but be warned – it’s not easy! It’s like collecting everything all over again, including those tricky rare and gold stickers. There are a whopping 207 stickers to collect in total, so it’s a serious challenge for dedicated collectors like me!

With a lot already happening in World of Warcraft, players have a new event to enjoy. On January 27th, the game kicked off Twilight Ascension, a pre-launch event for the upcoming Midnight expansion. Even though Twilight Ascension only runs until Midnight launches on March 2nd, players can earn powerful new weapons and armor to improve their characters. Those who enjoy decorating player housing can also get exclusive cosmetic items, plus a cool mount called the Retrained Skyrazor and some adorable companion pets. The story within Twilight Ascension also gives players a sneak peek at what’s coming in the Midnight expansion.

One of the most enjoyable things about Demon Slayer is watching Tanjiro Kamado constantly overcome seemingly insurmountable challenges. However, if the show followed its own internal rules strictly, it would have ended quickly. While Tanjiro is brave and kind, the power gap between a new demon slayer and a centuries-old demon is usually too large to overcome with good intentions alone. Many viewers have noticed that in such a dangerous world, Tanjiro often seems unbelievably lucky, as if he’s being protected by a guardian angel or a very generous author.

Lots of fun party games on Steam borrow ideas from classic titles like Mario Party, Crash Bash, and WarioWare. These games generally pit players against each other in a competition to be the best. While some, like Mario Party, have added team-based play, cooperative multiplayer party games have often been overshadowed by player-versus-player (PvP) formats. The release of Overcooked in 2016 changed that, bringing a renewed focus on cooperative gameplay with both story and endless modes. The upcoming game Choppy Cuts really excels in this more modern, cooperative style of multiplayer gaming.

A new show quietly launched on January 7th, and while it hasn’t gotten much attention yet, people who enjoy fantasy role-playing games will likely find it appealing. It’s starting to generate some online discussion, though not all of it is positive.

These games often build compelling stories by subverting player expectations and carefully revealing twists at just the right moment. They also subtly introduce gameplay mechanics and story elements, encouraging players to learn and discover things on their own without direct instruction. This hands-off approach creates a more natural and ultimately more satisfying experience.
