As a huge fan of Dispatch, I was really surprised to see that the artwork on the Nintendo eShop seems to have been changed for the US version. It looks like some of the characters’ outfits have been altered to cover up more skin. It’s a shame, because Dispatch has been one of the biggest indie hits of 2025 and everyone’s been praising it!
I’ve been totally hooked on this game called Dispatch! It came out in eight chapters, starting October 22nd for PlayStation 5 and PC, with the last two dropping on November 12th. The story is set in a really cool alternate Los Angeles where superheroes are just… part of everyday life. You play as Robert Robertson III, who goes by the hero name Mecha Man, and he kind of messes up a big personal task, which leads to him becoming a dispatcher for the Superhero Dispatch Network. Honestly, it’s a fantastic story-driven game, and people are loving it! It even got nominated for Best Debut Indie Game and Players’ Voice at The Game Awards 2025, which is awesome for the team at AdHoc Studio, who both published and developed it.
Dispatch Artwork Censored in the U.S. by Nintendo
The popular game Dispatch is launching on Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 on January 28, 2026, as confirmed on the Nintendo eShop. While this is great news for Nintendo fans who haven’t yet played the game on PlayStation 5 or PC, some have noticed a difference in the cover art for the new “Dispatch Art and Comics Pack” DLC. According to Nintendo Life, the U.S. version of the DLC cover appears to have been slightly changed to give several characters more clothing. The artwork shows the game’s characters relaxing by a pool in swimwear, and the U.S. version features a more modestly dressed group.

If you compare the current version of Dispatch to older ones, you’ll notice the swimwear for four characters has been altered to provide more coverage. These changes primarily affect the female characters, with adjustments like extra fabric on Prism’s swimsuit, a strip added to Malevola’s top, and significantly more coverage for Blonde Blazer – including the removal of a star-shaped cutout – in her swimsuit. These edits appear to be a form of censorship.

There’s also a male character, Flambae, who appears to have been subject to censorship. On the cover art for Episode 5 of Dispatch, he’s shown wearing only sunglasses and short shorts. The original, uncensored version showed his fly open, but the censored version simply unbuttons his shorts, covering up much more skin and reducing the exposed area to a small V-shape.
Image via AdHoc Studio The game Dispatch features a star-studded voice cast, including Aaron Paul, Laura Bailey, and Jacksepticeye, but its characters have also become fan favorites. Now, the Dispatch Art and Comics Pack lets players explore these heroes and villains in a fresh way. This downloadable content includes a digital artbook with over 100 pages, plus four original digital comics detailing new stories. Each comic – Splash & The Last Bender, Pas De Deux & Shellshock, Get Up, and The Death of Mecha Man – is at least 45 pages long. It’s available on the Nintendo eShop for $10.99, but you can get it for $9.89 if you purchase it before January 28th.
