Players of the Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket are receiving a holiday gift from the game developers, but the rewards are only available for a limited time. Pokemon cards remain incredibly popular and often sell out quickly. Many fans are turning to the Pokemon TCG Pocket mobile game as a way to play and collect cards digitally when physical cards are hard to find.

New cards and expansions are released frequently for the Pokémon Trading Card Game, giving players more to collect. In December 2025, the Pokémon TCG Pocket app added the Crimson Blaze expansion, which included powerful mega evolution cards for classic Kanto starters like Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise. A special holiday event also lets players earn booster packs and valuable Hourglass, which they can use to open even more cards daily.

Pokemon TCG Pocket Delivers a Holiday Gift to Players

The official Pokemon TCG Pocket social media accounts have been hinting at a special gift for players, and it turned out to be Delibird, an Ice-type Pokemon with a Christmas theme! Over several days leading up to December 25th, the account shared updates showing Delibird preparing presents. They asked players to send messages of thanks to encourage them, and it looks like the effort paid off – the gifts were successfully delivered by the deadline! You have to log in and claim it before then, or you’ll miss out – it disappears on January 7, 2026! For those who don’t know, Hourglass is really helpful in the game. It lets you open new packs faster, because there’s normally a wait time. You can only open a certain number of packs each day, and then you have to wait, but Hourglass cuts down that waiting time, so you can get back to opening packs sooner!

There’s another chance to collect more Hourglass items before the end of the year! From December 25th to 31st, players can complete special in-game events and receive daily login rewards. These events offer up to 36 Hourglasses, plus Crimson Blaze and Mega Rising booster packs. Here’s a complete schedule of the events.

Although everything can be earned without spending money, DeNA and Creatures are offering a special deal for players who want to spend a little in the in-game shop. From December 25, 2025, to January 7, 2026, you can get Poke Gold – the premium currency in Pokemon TCG Pocket – at a discount during a Holiday sale. Plus, you’ll receive a bonus with your purchase. For instance, buying 30 Poke Gold will give you an extra 30, totaling 60. The more you buy, the bigger the bonus: you’ll get 80 extra Poke Gold when you buy 100, and 145 extra when you buy 200.

Even though the recent holiday event was brief, January 2026 promises a lot of exciting new content for Pokemon TCG Pocket. The game will kick off the new year with a Mareep release on January 1st. Players can then participate in Bonus Week missions starting January 4th, followed by a Wonder Pick event featuring Heliolisk and Buneary. Later in the month, a powerful Mega Latios ex will be added to the game. Finally, on January 29th, a new Themed Booster Pack will launch, bringing 100 fresh cards to the mobile title.
