One Piece: Eiichiro Oda Officially Confirms A New Character Stronger Than Rocks And Harald

This article contains spoilers from One Piece’s Final Saga.

The anime and manga series One Piece is reaching the climax of its current flashback arc focusing on Elbaf, with intense battles happening one after another. The story has now arrived at a crucial fight: the battle that took place 14 years ago at Aurust Castle in Elbaf, where King Harald was killed by Loki. This battle has been built up throughout the Elbaf arc and finally occurred in chapter 1170.

Oda’s depiction of this fight was incredibly exciting and fundamentally changed the established power levels in One Piece. Characters previously considered the strongest, like Harald, Rocks, Roger, and Garp, have now been definitively surpassed by a new, immensely powerful character: Loki, the Accursed Prince of Elbaf. While this may seem unbelievable, Chapter 1170 of One Piece clearly demonstrates just how strong Loki has become.

Rocks And Harald Were Much Stronger Than The Yonko

  • Rocks Became Stronger With Domi Reversi
  • Harald Gained the Deep Sea Covenant

To gauge Loki’s power, it’s important to first understand just how strong the legendary characters in One Piece truly are. Eiichiro Oda established Rocks and Harald as equals in strength. Their initial confrontation on the Red Line was devastating, completely wiping out all life within a five-kilometer area, demonstrating they were perfectly matched opponents.

Harald and Rocks fought again in Elbaf, but their battle ended in a tie, just like before. They were consistently equals in strength, and Rocks himself admitted to his crew – which included powerful figures like Whitebeard – that Harald’s power was immense and would surprise even them. At God Valley, Rocks attempted to defeat Imu but was unsuccessful. However, this encounter unexpectedly made him even stronger. Imu used the Domi Reversi technique on Rocks, dramatically increasing his already considerable power to an extraordinary level.

Rocks’ newfound power was immense, exceeding even the combined strength of Roger and Garp, who had to unite their Haki to overcome him. Now, moving forward 14 years in the One Piece timeline, Harald had become significantly more powerful. He had likely surpassed the original Rocks, still being in the peak of his strength as a Giant.

Furthermore, Harald was given the Deep Sea Covenant by Imu, which granted him both immortality and incredible power. This, combined with his existing strength, should have put him on par with Domi Reversed Rocks. This is supported by the fact that even Shanks and Scopper Gaban fighting together couldn’t defeat him. Considering Gaban’s power is comparable to Roger, the inability of both Shanks and Gaban to win confirms that Harald was, at this point, as strong as, or even stronger than, Domi Reversed Rocks.

Domi Reversi and the Deep Sea Covenant are both incredibly powerful abilities that significantly enhance those who possess them. Rocks’ strength soared to immense heights after receiving Domi Reversi, and Harald became unbelievably strong with the Deep Sea Covenant. At their peak, they were unmatched in one-on-one combat. While Roger and Garp might have been able to defeat Rocks had he been Domi Reversed, they weren’t at their full potential during the God Valley Incident.

Around ten years after the God Valley incident, the strongest versions of these individuals likely could have defeated Domi Reversed Rocks. However, they were probably not stronger than Rocks; at most, they were equals. Still, there’s a character in One Piece – Loki – who could defeat them all on his own.

Wow, One Piece Chapter 1170 really blew my mind! We finally got to see just how powerful Loki can be. Honestly, on his own, he wasn’t looking like he could beat Harald – he seemed a bit weaker than Scopper Gaban, and maybe around the same level as Shanks. But then came Ragnir! It was amazing to see Ragnir fully accept Loki, making him the first person in ages to wield its power. And get this – Ragnir is almost as strong as Loki himself! That’s basically a Yonko-level boost, putting him right up there with the top powerhouses in the world! To top it all off, he also got the legendary Devil Fruit from Elbaf, which Harald even admitted was the only way to truly take him down. This is huge!

After gaining this power, Loki became incredibly strong, easily defeating Harald with a Deep Sea Pact. Harald is comparable to, or even stronger than, Domi Reversed Rocks, meaning Loki accomplished something Roger and Garp couldn’t achieve even when working together. This puts Loki at least on par with, and potentially even above, the Pirate King in terms of strength – a truly frightening prospect. Importantly, Loki is still developing, suggesting he could become even more powerful in the future.

Loki Is Stronger Than Rocks, Harald, Roger, And Whitebeard

Currently, Loki is widely considered the second strongest character in the One Piece world. He’s proven to be more powerful than Rocks D. Xebec, even without using Domi Reversi, and stronger than King Harald, potentially even with the Deep Sea Pact. This means he’s technically surpassed even Roger at the God Valley, and is stronger than Whitebeard, who was considered the strongest after Roger’s death. Simply put, Loki is the second strongest character, behind only Imu and one other mysterious individual.

Six years ago in the world of One Piece, Red-Haired Shanks decisively defeated Loki. This victory has led fans to believe Shanks is the strongest human currently alive, second only to Imu in overall power. It suggests Shanks has surpassed legendary figures like Roger, Whitebeard, Rocks, and Harald. Defeating Loki, especially considering Loki possessed Ragnir and the powerful Devil Fruit from Elbaf, demonstrates Shanks’ incredible strength.

Eiichiro Oda’s popular manga, One Piece, follows Monkey D. Luffy and his crew, the Straw Hat Pirates, as they search for the legendary treasure, the One Piece. The story is currently in its final arc. The newest chapter, 1170, will be released in this week’s Weekly Shonen Jump on January 4, 2026. In Japan, it will be available at midnight on Monday, which translates to 11:00 AM Eastern Time and 8:00 AM Pacific Time.
