As a huge Naruto fan, I’m always amazed by the Hokage! Masashi Kishimoto really built them up as these incredible, respected leaders, and each one truly shaped a different period for Konoha. But for me, and for so many others, Naruto Uzumaki is the most important Hokage – he’s the main character, and seeing him become the Seventh Hokage was just… amazing! It actually happened right at the very end of the manga, in Chapter 700, and it was the perfect conclusion to his journey.

Throughout the original Naruto series, we didn’t see a lot of him as Hokage. While Boruto offered some glimpses into his time in office, it’s clear Naruto served as the village leader for a significant period. However, his time as Hokage seems to be coming to a close. Fans are likely saying goodbye to the Seventh Hokage, as he probably won’t lead Konoha again. Thankfully, Naruto isn’t going to pass away; it’s simply time for a new generation to step up and lead the village.

Naruto Went Through Many Hardships To Become The Seventh Hokage Of Konoha

This grew even further during the Fourth Great Ninja War, where he earned the respect of the entire ninja world. This widespread admiration is why, a few years later, he was able to achieve his lifelong dream and become the Seventh Hokage.

Becoming the hero he was known as wasn’t easy for Naruto. He faced immense challenges, including overcoming his own inner struggles and the cycle of hatred. Bringing his friend Sasuke home was also crucial. These hardships were essential in shaping Naruto into the person and the brilliant character fans admire. Without them, he wouldn’t have achieved his dream of becoming the Seventh Hokage or saved the world.

Naruto’s story resonates with so many because it’s an inspiring tale of transformation. Watching him grow from an overlooked child into the most powerful Hokage ever is truly remarkable, and his legacy continues to motivate future generations of ninjas.

Naruto Might Never Reign As The Seventh Hokage Again

Everyone agrees that Naruto is the greatest and most powerful Hokage ever, but he won’t be returning to the position of Seventh Hokage. He was essentially removed from action when Kawaki sealed him away during the early part of the Boruto series. It’s been three years, and he’s officially been declared dead, though fans know that isn’t truly the case. For now, Konoha is being led by Shikamaru as an interim Hokage.

As I’ve been watching things unfold, it feels like Shikamaru is really acting as the leader of Konoha right now, almost like an unofficial 8th Hokage. But everyone knows that’s just temporary. It doesn’t look like Naruto will be back anytime soon, and from what we’ve seen, he’s still sealed away even during the big fight between Kawaki and Boruto. That basically means he won’t be returning before the Boruto series ends. It’s likely Konoha will have already chosen its next Hokage by the time Naruto does come back, which probably means he won’t have the chance to lead the village again.

Konoha Needs A New Hokage, And There Are Already Candidates

As many fans suspect, Shikamaru might lose his position because of his involvement with Boruto. If that happens, Konoha will probably need to choose a new Hokage, and Konohamaru currently seems like the most likely candidate. While characters like Sakura or even bringing back Kakashi would be strong choices, Boruto has repeatedly shown it’s more interested in the new generation and largely ignores the older characters.

It seems the next Hokage will probably be a younger ninja, like Konohamaru. This would finally make Konohamaru’s lifelong dream of becoming Hokage come true.

Konohamaru Could Be The Eighth, While Sarada Might Be The Ninth Hokage

Considering how the story is progressing, Konohamaru is positioned to officially become the Eighth Hokage. Following him, Sarada is very likely to become the Ninth Hokage, as she’s already demonstrated the power and potential needed for the role. She’ll mature and grow into the position over time, which seems inevitable.

The story will likely conclude when Naruto returns, with Sarada ultimately becoming the next Hokage. Achieving this means Naruto will have to give up his own ambitions, which creates a difficult situation. The most logical path for the author seems to be having Konohamaru become the Eighth Hokage, paving the way for Sarada to become the Ninth.

Naruto has fulfilled his lifelong goal of becoming the Seventh Hokage, and the story indicates he won’t hold that position upon his return. While it’s sad for fans, it’s time to accept that Naruto Uzumaki’s time as Hokage is ending and the next generation will be taking the lead in the Two Blue Vortex arc.
