As 2025 draws to a close, Switch and Switch 2 owners can reflect on the great games added to Nintendo Switch Online this year. Unlike services like Game Pass or PlayStation Plus, Nintendo Switch Online doesn’t offer a massive library or immediate access to new releases. Instead, it focuses on adding classic games from older Nintendo consoles each month.
The standard Nintendo Switch Online membership lets you play games online, save your progress in the cloud, and enjoy a library of classic NES, SNES, and Game Boy games. If you upgrade to the Expansion Pack, you’ll also get access to games from Nintendo 64, Game Boy Advance, SEGA Genesis, and GameCube. Plus, the Expansion Pack includes downloadable content for certain games, such as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Animal Crossing.
