Steam Reveals Its Best-Selling Games of 2025

Steam has announced its list of the 100 best-selling games of 2025. The rankings were broken down into new releases for the year, as well as popular titles played on Steam Deck and Steam VR. Several top games, including ARC Raiders, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, were among the best sellers on Steam.

Okay, so 2025 was a surprisingly good year for gaming, even with all the industry stuff going on. As a PC gamer, I was seriously spoiled for choice! We had huge RPGs like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 winning awards, and a bunch of awesome indie multiplayer games popped off – R.E.P.O., Peak, and RV There Yet were constantly in my rotation. What really blew my mind was seeing games like Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and Stellar Blade finally come to Steam. Since most of us PC players use Steam, those games – and a lot of others – did really well thanks to Valve and all its users. It was a great year to be a PC gamer, honestly.

Steam’s Top 12 Best-Selling Games That Released in 2025 (In Alphabetical Order)

  • ARC Raiders
  • Battlefield 6
  • Borderlands 4
  • Dune: Awakening
  • EA Sports FC 26
  • Elden Ring: Nightreign
  • Hollow Knight: Silksong
  • Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
  • Monster Hunter Wilds
  • Schedule I
  • Sid Meier’s Civilization 7
  • The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered

Steam recently revealed the best-selling games of 2025, based on revenue. Multiplayer titles like ARC Raiders, Battlefield 6, Schedule I, Dune: Awakening, and Elden Ring: Nightreign were the most profitable, taking the top spots. Popular single-player games also performed well, with The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered, Hollow Knight: Silksong, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 all achieving strong sales. Despite some user complaints about bugs and issues, Borderlands 4, Monster Hunter Worlds, Civilization 7, and EA Sports FC 26 also made it into Steam’s Top 12 games of the year.

Steam organized its games into four categories: Platinum (ranks 1-12), Gold (13-24), Silver (25-50), and Bronze (51-100). Within each category, the games were displayed in a random order.

Although it received many awards, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 didn’t quite reach the highest revenue level (Platinum) on Steam, but it did achieve Gold status. Other popular games like Dispatch, Doom: The Dark Ages, and Digimon Story: Time Stranger also landed in the Gold tier. The Silver and Bronze tiers included several games available on multiple platforms, including Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles, Ball x Pit, and PowerWash Simulator 2. All games in the Platinum tier are currently discounted during the Steam Winter Sale, with Schedule I and Hollow Knight: Silksong available together for $29. Steam plans to update its list of the top 100 bestsellers for 2025 on January 15th, shortly after the Winter Sale ends.

Steam’s Plans for 2026 Depend on the PC Gaming Market

As a huge Steam fan, I’m so excited about what Valve has planned for 2026! While 2025 was a good year for Steam games, the big news is the next Steam Machine. It’s a cool, cube-shaped PC with a powerful AMD processor and graphics card – they’re saying it’ll easily handle games at 1080p or 1440p. Plus, it can even upscale to 4K using AMD’s technology, and you’ll have access to all your Steam games. They’re also releasing a new Steam Controller that’s taking cues from the Steam Deck, keeping those touchpads and the layout we all know and love. Unfortunately, Valve hasn’t announced a price or release date yet, so we’ll have to be patient and wait for more details, but I’m already counting down the days!

The release date and price of the Steam Machine are currently uncertain and will depend on the ongoing issues with RAM availability in 2026. Since October 2025, the cost of DDR5 RAM has increased dramatically, actually quadrupling in price over the last three months. This RAM shortage could also impact the new PlayStation and Xbox consoles, and it’s unclear how that will influence Valve’s plans for the coming year.
