Wow, it’s been a while! It’s already 2026, and I’m here to help you keep succeeding at the NYT Connections game. If you’re hoping to maintain your winning streak, you’ll find hints, solutions, and tips for today’s puzzle right here.
What is NYT Connections?
I should probably give a quick explanation of what NYT Connections is before I share today’s hints and clues.
NYT Connections launched in June 2023 as the newest game from the New York Times, and it quickly became popular. It’s a free game that anyone around the world can play on their computer or phone.
NYT Connections is a great way to pass the time, like during your commute or while waiting for a drink.
But how do you play NYT Connections?

It’s relatively simple, and that’s why it’s the best New York Times game, in my opinion.
Each day, the New York Times Connections game gives you a set of 16 words. Your job is to organize them into four groups of four, based on what they have in common. There’s only one correct solution to each puzzle, and some words can be misleading, making it a bit challenging to solve.
The words are also color-coded to show how challenging they are: yellow is the easiest, followed by blue, then green, and finally purple, which is the most difficult.
The important thing to remember is you only get four tries each day. Use them all up, and you won’t be able to solve today’s NYT Connections puzzle – it’ll be game over.

And here are the hints I can offer for today’s NYT Connections:
- Yellow – Think about the small, concentrated forms of supernatural influence — the kind of mystical actions that show up in fairy tales, fantasy novels, or folklore.
- Green – Imagine you’re prepping food in a kitchen — or working with anything that has a natural outer layer.
- Blue – These are the words you attach to someone who is REALLY into a topic — the kind of person who knows every detail, every fact, every obscure bit of trivia.
- Purple – Picture the word “butter” followed by another word to form a familiar phrase or compound.
