Silent Hill f and Townfall Should Be the Ying to Each Other’s Yang
The horror game series, Silent Hill, is experiencing an unprecedented surge in popularity that even its most dedicated fans would have scarcely dared to imagine just a short while ago. This surge can be attributed mainly to the exceptional response garnered by Bloober’s remake of Silent Hill 2, a success that was far from expected until very recently before its release. While the remake of Silent Hill 2 might not set new standards for modern AAA survival-horror games, it still represents a significant achievement for the Silent Hill franchise, regardless of the low expectations set by previous titles like Homecoming, Downpour, and The Short Message. Now, f and Townfall, as the only announced upcoming Silent Hill games at present, bear a heavy responsibility to uphold this newfound momentum.
