How to Craft the Staff of Blazing Karma in Black Myth: Wukong

As a seasoned adventurer who’s seen my fair share of fantastical realms and formidable foes, I can confidently say that Black Myth: Wukong has been one heck of a journey! The Mother of Flamlings is just another notch in the belt of this enchanting game.

In the later stages of Black Myth: Wukong, the level of equipment significantly upgrades. By Chapter 5, players can craft the Legendary Staff of Blazing Karma, one of several potent end-game weapons. But to build this weapon, players must secure three Samadhi Fire Crystals, a scarce crafting resource that can be obtained by vanquishing three unique mini-bosses in Chapter 5. This tutorial will walk players through locating all three Samadahi Fire Crystals and the process of creating the Staff of Blazing Karma.

In order to obtain Samadhi Fire Crystals, the Chosen One needs to vanquish three particular foes, all of whom can be found in Chapter 5. These adversaries are:

Each boss will yield a single Samadhi Fire Crystal, in addition to other rewards. It might not be immediately clear from their names, but these foes are all fire-oriented, using flames in various ways to overpower the Destined One. To counter this, use any armor you have with Burn Resistance, and either bring or craft Body-Cooling Powder.

Where to Find the Flint Chief in Black Myth: Wukong

In this game, the “Flint Chief” is the initial adversary who drops a valuable item. To locate it, gamers should commence their journey from the “Valley Entrance” shrine situated within the “Furnace Valley”. Proceed along the primary path towards the substantial lava waterfall in the horizon. Continue on this path until you spot a tiny rock bridge that arches over a stream of molten lava. You’ll then need to dive into the lava and swim beneath the rock archway, but remember to equip yourself with the “Lava Step” ability, which enables you to traverse lava without getting burned.

After passing beneath the stone archway, keep moving along the flow of molten rock until you spot a trickle of lava cascading down from above. You’ll find a solitary tree right before it. As you approach the tree, the Flint Vanguard will materialize in front of you. The Flint Vanguard’s leader, the Flint Chief, relies heavily on its physical strength and tends to attack with its strong arms. Targeting these arms can cause significant damage. By this stage in the game, you should have improved weapons and armor, making the encounter less challenging. Overcoming the Flint Chief will earn you the first Samadhi Fire Crystal.

Where to Find the Flint Vanguard in Black Myth: Wukong

Before venturing towards the Flint Vanguard, don’t forget to verify your supplies and ensure you carry at least four. These items will be crucial when encountering the Mother of Flamlings, who is situated near the Flint Vanguard. If you find yourself lacking, acquire them from a Keeper’s Shrine before descending the hill.

To locate the Flint Vanguard, begin by advancing beyond the massive Iron orb, initially perceived as ordinary but later discovered to serve a specific purpose. It’s crucial to avoid colliding with it and instead move from secure spot to secure spot along the path’s edge. Your journey will eventually lead to a scene where this obstacle is eliminated, paving the way for a new route known as the Cooling Slope. This area can be accessed either starting from the Ashen Pass III, or the Fallen Furnace Crater shrine. The only difference lies in your approach direction.

Regardless of the shrine you select, retrace your steps on the path that the Iron Ball initially took. You’ll recall a blazing wall of fire obstructing part of the path earlier. After the Plantain Fan is unveiled and the Iron Ball is removed, this fiery wall vanishes. From Ashen Pass III, take a right at the spot where the fire wall was once located. If you’re coming from Fallen Furnace Crater, make a left turn instead.

Follow the descent, and you’ll come across a Luojia Fragrant Vine on your left side. Carry on past this until you notice a cluster of gray stones that stand out distinctly against the surrounding black rocks. Approach these stones, and they will transform into the Flint Vanguard. This foe is primarily fire-based, characterized by its ability to slam its upper body onto the ground, causing massive lava eruptions near it. Due to this, it’s advisable to keep your distance from the Flint Vanguard for extended periods. Despite being relatively slow, you can engage, attack, and retreat swiftly. Regrettably, the Fireproof Mantle won’t completely nullify the damage here, but it does provide some protection. Stay calm, and you will overcome this enemy, receiving the second reward.

Where to Find the Mother of Flamlings in Black Myth: Wukong

After vanquishing the boss, you won’t have to journey too far to discover the hidden treasure trove. Stay close to the right edge of the expansive space, and you’ll spot a trail that continues deeper into the area. Along your path, you’ll come across numerous rocky adversaries with a flair for pyrotechnics before encountering a group of flame-wielding creatures known as Flamlings. If you haven’t managed to collect any Flame Ore thus far, fret not! You can snag some from these very Flamlings. Continue on your quest until you notice an area illuminated with an orange, radiant glow. As you draw closer, you’ll see that you can engage with it. This is where you’ll be required to deposit four pieces of Flame Ore to conjure the Mother of all Flamlings.

This enemy is essentially just a large Flamling, so the fight is not too difficult. As you whittle her health down, she will summon a large circle of basic Flamlings to attack you with fireballs. Keep an eye on them, as the fire can take you out faster than you might expect. However, if you take out the Flamlings quickly, the fight with the Mother of Flamlings will not be difficult. Defeating her will award you the final Samadhi Fire Crystal, and the ability to craft a staff that is tragically slept on, rivaling the best weapons in Black Myth: Wukong.
