A recent report indicates that NVIDIA has discontinued the RTX 5070 Ti graphics card, and the 16GB version of the RTX 5060 Ti will be phased out shortly.
The increasing demand for artificial intelligence is causing a shortage of memory chips worldwide, affecting major companies like NVIDIA. Recent news suggested NVIDIA wouldn’t be releasing new graphics cards at the CES 2026 show, and now reports indicate they may also stop making one of their RTX 50 Series GPUs.
NVIDIA to Halt Production of RTX 5070 Ti and 5060 Ti 16GB
According to a new video from Hardware Unboxed (and reported by VideoCardz), NVIDIA has stopped making the RTX 5070 Ti graphics card. ASUS, a major partner of NVIDIA, confirmed the card has been discontinued and they won’t be producing any more. This means the current stock available is all that will be made by ASUS. This news follows previous reports that NVIDIA plans to reduce overall production of the RTX 50 series in 2026.
The NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti isn’t the only graphics card with supply problems. The RTX 5060 Ti 16GB is also becoming hard to find, and NVIDIA has essentially stopped making it. ASUS has confirmed the 16GB version is discontinued. Right now, stores can only buy the 8GB versions – the RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti 8GB – if they purchase them in large quantities. Because of these shortages, the prices of the available cards have gone up.
NVIDIA may bring back the GeForce RTX 3060 in early 2026, reportedly to address continuing problems with memory availability. Meanwhile, NVIDIA’s CEO, Jensen Huang, expressed disappointment with the negative discussions surrounding the artificial intelligence field.
