LEGO is well-loved for both its classic building sets and its partnerships with popular franchises like Pokémon and Batman. As we near the middle of 2026, we’ve experienced a mix of great and not-so-great games, but independent developers are currently ahead with two excellent and completely different titles.

By next week, many people will likely know about the Backrooms, whether through the movie or one of the existing video games. With all the recent attention, it’s easy to forget where the Backrooms originally came from. The latest Kingdom Hearts game was a significant step forward for the series. Kingdom Hearts 3, released in 2019, was the first completely new main game in over ten years, following several spin-off titles after Kingdom Hearts 2.
