How To Fish In Throne And Liberty

How To Fish In Throne And Liberty

As a seasoned gamer with countless hours under my belt, I can confidently say that “Throne and Liberty” has managed to capture my heart with its immersive gameplay and attention to detail. The inclusion of non-combat life skills like fishing is a breath of fresh air in today’s action-packed gaming landscape.

Throne and Liberty offers a multitude of collectible items and resources to amass. Yet, it caters to those players who wish to engage with the game beyond combat or extensive exploration as well. Among these alternative experiences is a life skill called Fishing.

To engage in fishing, players need to acquire a fishing pole and some suitable bait initially. Afterward, they can collect various items that will be useful for different aspects of the game, like preparing meals.

Where To Get A Fishing Rod In Throne And Liberty

Fishing rods come in varying rarities, with the most common one being the Bamboo Fishing Rod. This common rarity rod can be acquired in numerous ways, but players may want to get it as soon as possible.

Contract Coin Merchant

Instead of starting with the main story quests, you might choose to finish the initial contracts first. Reaching this stage in the game will lead players towards the Contract Coin Vendor, a non-player character who sells the Bamboo Fishing Rod for 300 Contract Coins. However, that’s quite a number of coins for a common fishing rod. Fortunately, you can obtain this rod without spending any Contract Coins by simply chatting with an NPC located just across the street from the Contract Coin Vendor.

Complete Adventures of the Expedition

In Chapter 3, you’ll find an exciting opportunity called the “Expedition Adventure.” You can initiate it by conversing with Percy, the Adventure Master, in Kastleton. He will assign you the task, which involves interacting with the Amitoi House and dispatching one of your Amitois on a journey. Return to Percy after completing the task to finish the quest and obtain a Bamboo Fishing Rod – all without spending a single coin!

After obtaining a fishing rod, players should gather some fishing bait next. Various types of bait are available, but for beginners, it’s best to start with Fishing Paste. Luckily, this bait can be purchased daily from the Contract Coin Merchant. Unfortunately, unlike weapons, the rod cannot be upgraded, so players should aim to find better fishing rods as they progress through the game.

In the Character menu, locate the Weapons section at the top left corner. This is where you’ll see which fishing rod and bait you have currently equipped. Your selection will vary based on what type of fish you want to catch. Once both slots are filled, feel free to go to any nearby coastline to start fishing for your first catch.

Toss your fishing rod into the water and be patient for a fish to grab the line. As you attempt to reel in your catch, an energy bar will pop up. To successfully land your catch, you’ll need to drain this energy bar entirely by pulling against the direction in which your catch is swimming. Keep in mind that both the catch and the player have their own energy bars. If your energy meter is completely drained, the fish will slip away.

With each fishing session, players accumulate experience points, gradually advancing their proficiency in fishing as a life skill. This progression makes catching larger or more elusive fish feasible over time. The fish caught can be utilized in combination with cooking, which is another essential aspect of the game. Cooking stations are scattered across the map, including back at Kastleton. Various types of fish are required for various recipes, and these recipes will yield different beneficial effects (buffs). Using a buff before a tough battle could tip the scales between victory and defeat, so it’s crucial to develop this skill when you need specific materials.
