Thomas Andre is a well-known character in the series Solo Leveling, and he’s considered the most powerful hunter in America. While some viewers might not immediately like his assertive personality, his strong presence and charm are hard to miss. What sets him apart is that he truly has the strength to match his confident attitude, which isn’t always the case with other characters.

Although we haven’t seen Thomas Andre’s full power in the Solo Leveling anime yet, the original novel and webcomic demonstrate why he’s considered one of the most powerful hunters. This article is dedicated to recognizing Thomas Andre and celebrating his incredible moments.

Betting the Scavengers Guild

  • Thomas Andre was aware of Jinwoo’s power even before they fought each other.

Thomas Andre is skilled at reading people. Years of fighting have given him a keen sense of who is capable and who isn’t. He trusts his gut feelings implicitly, which often comes across as both confidence and a bit of arrogance.

When a powerful monster gate opened in Tokyo and threatened to destroy Japan, Thomas made a risky bet. He wagered everything his guild owned on Jinwoo, even though other hunters laughed at him for being overconfident. Thomas believed in Jinwoo’s strength and ultimately proved everyone wrong when Jinwoo successfully cleared the dangerous dungeon.

Taming Hwang Dong-Soo

  • Thomas Andre is the boss of Hwang Dong-Soo.

Thomas Andre is a rare hunter in Solo Leveling who dares to challenge powerful S-rank hunters like Hwang Dong-Soo. As the leader of the Scavengers Guild, he brought Hwang Dong-Soo to America and is in charge of managing his activities and choices.

Throughout much of Solo Leveling, Thomas Andre consistently manages to control Hwang Dong-Soo with his sharp words and commanding presence. Thomas is able to subdue Hwang, making him compliant and forcing him to do as he’s told. Whenever Thomas is around, Hwang is reduced to a state of obedience, quietly accepting any scolding he receives.

Hunting Hwang Dong-Soo and Jinwoo

  • Thomas Andre did not waste time searching for Jinwoo and Hwang Dong-Soo.

The International Guild Conference storyline highlighted how quickly Thomas Andre can locate both Hwang Dong-Soo and Sung Jinwoo. Their battle has been ongoing, and Jinwoo is clearly winning, meaning Hwang Dong-Soo doesn’t have much time left.

While the other members of the Scavenger Guild spread out to look for clues, Thomas moved incredibly quickly and skillfully, locating Hwang Dong-Soo and Sung Jinwoo almost immediately. Sadly, despite his speed, he couldn’t reach Hwang in time to save him.

Assisting in the Kamish Raid

  • Thomas Andre became a national-level hunter after the Kamish Raid.

Thomas Andre was a top-level hunter – one of just five with an S-rank – who helped defeat the Red Dragon Kamish long before Sung Jinwoo started using the System. Kamish wasn’t a typical dragon; he was a powerful dungeon boss at the S-level and served Antares, a Dragon Monarch.

Kamish caused a lot of destruction across America, where Thomas Andre lives. It’s remarkable that Thomas survived when so many others didn’t. On top of that, he managed to get hold of fangs from the dragon and crafted them into a strong dagger.

Fighting Tarnak in the Final Battle Arc

  • Thomas Andre helped defeat Tarnak.

Thomas Andre is incredibly powerful and should be a key player in Sung Jinwoo’s plan to defeat the Monarchs during the final battle. Despite almost losing his life fighting Rakan, he bravely continued to fight alongside Bellion and Beru against Tarnak.

Tarnak, also called the Monarch of Iron and Steel, confronted Thomas Andre, Bellion, and Beru. The group managed to defeat Tarnak and his army, demonstrating the incredible strength of a ruler’s ship and two accompanying shadows.

Fighting Rakan During the Seoul Invasion

  • Thomas Andre faced Rakan by himself.

After his battle with Jinwoo, Thomas Andre faced Rakan, known as the Beast Monarch. Despite recently being discharged from the hospital, Thomas didn’t avoid the challenge. Even though he was still injured, he bravely stood his ground against the powerful Rakan.

Thomas showed incredible strength, even dominating the Beast Monarch for a while. He was winning the fight until Rakan became enraged and fought with everything he had. Though Thomas lost again, it doesn’t diminish his skill as a warrior. He’s still a formidable opponent, but he hasn’t fully recovered from his injuries sustained in his battle with Sung Jinwoo.

Fighting Jinwoo in America

  • Thomas Andre held his own against Jinwoo.

Thomas Andre is a rare hunter who managed to survive an encounter with Jinwoo. They fought fiercely, with Thomas using all of his strength and skills, including Reinforcement and Spiritual Body Manifestation. Despite his best efforts, Jinwoo still won the battle.

Although almost no one survives a battle with Jinwoo, Thomas Andre managed to do so even with broken bones. While he lost, he demonstrated an incredible level of strength that most hunters couldn’t match.
