Assassin’s Creed Hexe Hires Veteran Writer Christopher Grilli

The upcoming Assassin’s Creed game now has a Lead Scriptwriter, and this person has worked on previous games in the series.

Christopher Grilli, who previously wrote scripts for Assassin’s Creed Origins, Valhalla, and Mirage, has announced on LinkedIn that he’s joining the team working on the next Assassin’s Creed game, currently known as Hexe.

He announced on January 16th that he’s joining Ubisoft Montreal as a Lead Scriptwriter, working on the upcoming Assassin’s Creed game, Codename Hexe. He expressed his excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to work with the team and on the project.

Everything Known About Assassin’s Creed Hexe So Far

TopMob announced in 2024 that the game is still in early development, but they plan to release it this year. Unlike previous games in the series, this one is expected to have a more straightforward storyline and will star a female lead character named Elsa, who possesses special powers.

The game is set in 16th-century Central Europe, within the Holy Roman Empire. Developers are planning to include a ‘fear’ mechanic, drawing inspiration from the ‘Jack the Ripper’ downloadable content for Assassin’s Creed Syndicate.

Now that the Lead Scriptwriter has joined the team, the game is likely still some time away from being released. However, with someone so experienced working on it, development seems to be progressing well. If you’re eager to play an Assassin’s Creed game sooner, you might want to look into the remake of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag.
