ARC Raiders Players Are Fighting Back Against Ceiling Glitches

ARC Raiders is a great game with exciting gameplay, but it’s had some problems. Players began noticing cheaters during the holidays, and it took Embark Studios until the start of 2026 to really address the issue. While updates fixed some things, a few problems still remain.

A major issue in the game is a glitch that lets players move above the map, giving them an unfair advantage to shoot down on others. Recently, players have been seen using this same glitch against those who exploit it, turning the tables on them.

Don’t Do Ceiling Glitches in ARC Raiders

A video posted online by ‘aimkey’ shows a group of players rushing to the top of Stella Montis to get revenge on another group of players who are already there.

It’s a strange back-and-forth where players who exploit a glitch are being punished, similar to how others have been banned. Frustrated with people misusing the glitch, aimkey and his team find a way to reach the top of the map and hunt down players attempting to use the same glitch to eliminate them.

Is it right? Well, it’s two wrongs, and we know what the adage says about that.

A few years ago, a similar issue arose in the game Escape from Tarkov. A YouTuber bought and used cheats, not to gain an unfair advantage, but to investigate how widespread cheating was in the popular online shooter. He was making a detailed video about the game and wanted to understand the extent of the problem.

It had some positive results. He realized, with reasonable accuracy, that cheating was happening all around him.

The glitch allowing players to reach the ceiling in ARC Raiders isn’t as major as the previous issue, but it’s still frustrating and, according to aimkey, very simple to perform.

In the comments section under the clip, viewers were supportive of aimkey’s efforts:

  • ‘We got anti-exploiters before anti-cheat.’
  • ‘Y’all just went up there and hunted them down? That’s great.’
  • ‘We need more people to kill those guys who are spamming this glitch btw’

Problems with players exploiting game glitches have been around as long as multiplayer games themselves. For example, in games like Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, players used to find ways to get outside the map boundaries. Some of these spots, like a particular glitch on the ‘Overgrown’ map, are still well-remembered by players today.
