Oblivion Wins ALGS Championship 2026 in Sapporo

The Apex Legends Global Series Championship 2026 recently concluded with OBLIVION taking the top spot after a competitive final. The championship went down to the wire, with multiple teams reaching match point and battling for the winning round to secure the trophy and $600,000 prize.

Team Falcons quickly became the first team to get within one win of victory, playing exceptionally well throughout the entire tournament. It appeared nothing – not even a prohibited controller – could defeat ImperialHal, except for OBLIVION.

Apex Legends Global Series Ends for Another Season

The Apex Legends Global Series had its ups and downs this year. Team Falcons consistently dominated, proving to be the strongest competitor throughout most of the season. The year culminated in another impressive event in Sapporo, which is quickly becoming the central location for Apex esports, thanks to great sponsorships and a well-organized competition.

It was easily one of the biggest years for Apex esports.

This year saw a completely new local area network setup for the ALGS, a huge open tournament with 160 teams. We also updated how points are earned and added more maps to keep the gameplay fresh.

The excitement reached its peak at the 2026 ALGS Championship in Sapporo. As the tournament neared its end, six teams were all one win away from the championship, creating a thrilling final match for the large and enthusiastic crowd at the Daiwa House Dome in Japan.

Team Falcons was almost at the finish line, but Fnatic unexpectedly surged forward and took the lead. Playing in front of their home crowd gave Fnatic a significant boost.

The following match was chaotic, culminating in a tense final battle where the last three teams were crammed into a tiny area, carefully exchanging fire and playing cautiously. Everyone knew E36 was on the verge of winning, and all eyes were on them. When E36 was eliminated, an unexpected final round was set up.

Eight teams now sat in the match point realm.

Man, the last map was insane! Oblivion just came out of nowhere and the LCQ champs absolutely clutched it, finishing top three and then taking the win in Sapporo. Seriously, this mostly North American team played out of their minds – it’s easily the biggest underdog story I’ve ever seen in Apex!

I can’t believe it! This organization had only ever won about $10,000 in Apex competitions before, and now Monsoon, Blinkzr, and FunFPS just took home a massive $600,000 prize! What’s even more amazing is they didn’t even have team jerseys yet! Huge congrats to them – this is incredible!
