The Fate of Every Zombies Crew in Call of Duty

The Fate of Every Zombies Crew in Call of Duty

As a historian with a keen eye for detail and a knack for uncovering hidden truths, I find myself captivated by these intricate tales of alternate realities and the lives of those who inhabit them. From the Pentagon’s Five crew to the Shadows of Evil gang, each story presents an enthralling tapestry of political intrigue, supernatural occurrences, and moral dilemmas that leave us pondering the nature of fate and choice.

The timeline of events in Call of Duty Zombies is quite intricate, spanning multiple dimensions and universes across various games. The Aether storyline has been a canvas for numerous complex concepts and characters, unfolding as an epic narrative. Beyond the memorable maps and powerful weapons, what truly stands out in Call of Duty Zombies are its well-crafted characters and immersive settings.

Each map within the “Call of Duty Zombies” series features a dedicated team with a captivating narrative, where each character’s unique personality plays a significant role in the overall plot. This journey commences in “Call of Duty: World at War” and concludes in “Call of Duty: Black Ops 4”, ensuring that players can follow the destiny of every “COD Zombies” crew from their beginning to the end, unraveling the tales of each team member.

The Chaos team won’t be featured on this list because they have minimal relevance to the Aether/Dark Aether narrative in Call of Duty: Zombies, and their project was ultimately scrapped in Black Ops 4.

7 Ultimis

The Original Crew Who Blew Up The Earth Who Were Later Poisoned By Primis Nikolai

The Fate of Every Zombies Crew in Call of Duty
  • Edward Richtofen
  • “Tank” Dempsey
  • Nikolai Belinski
  • Takeo Masaki

The discovery of Element 115 led to an Illuminati member and German scientist known as Edward Richtofen to join forces with Group 935 and begin his work on teleportation. Using himself as a live test subject, Richtofen would be teleported to the Moon where he came in contact with the MPD, a strange Aether Pyramid created by the Apothicons. Infected by the Dark Aether through physical contact with the MPD, Richtofen would hear twisted voices that drove him to insanity that aided his 115 experiments of three test subjects: Nikolai, Dempsey, and Takeo, all German enemies in World War 2.

Following his stint at the 935 Siberian outpost, Richtofen treacherously seals Doctor Maxis and his daughter, Samantha, within a teleporter and sets it off. This action results in Samantha ending up on the moon, where she’s enveloped by the MPD and tainted by Dark Aether, giving her command over the undead forces. Infuriated by this act, Richtofen stirs the test subjects to life and embarks on a journey with them to recover three essential items – his diary, the Vril Device, and the Focusing Stone – all needed to counteract Samantha’s power on the moon.

Ultimis’ journey ends on the Moon where Richtofen’s grand scheme sees him transfer his soul with Samantha’s thanks to the Vril Device and the MPD. The survivors of Ultimis accidentally blow up the Earth and then travel back in time with Samantha in Richtofen’s body back to Groom Lake where they are held in a hangar until Maxis takes control of Agartha with the help of Victis in 2025. This sees Maxis send Samantha’s soul to the House, and a now soulless Richtofen is reunited with his own soul after a zombie possessing Richtofen’s soul from 2025 interacts with his body With Ultimis now reunited, Primis recruits them in a broken cycle to end the Great War. Yet, Primis Nikolai’s plan secretly involved killing Ultimis to allow the Dark Aether to engulf the multiverse and begin anew without them, leaving all of Ultimis dead in a universe to be forgotten.

6 Primis

The Refined Crew Who Saved The Multiverse Countless Times Were All Poisoned By Primis Nikolai

The Fate of Every Zombies Crew in Call of Duty
  • Edward Richtofen
  • “Tank” Dempsey
  • Nikolai Belinski
  • Takeo Masaki

1918 found Primis starting their adventure at an archaeological site belonging to Group 935 in a dimension of Northern France. Here, Element 115 had resurrected a horde of zombies once more. Assigned by their respective governments during World War 1, Dempsey, Nikolai, and Takeo were ordered to find the enigmatic Dr. Edward Richtofen. Tragically, the excavation site was overrun by the undead, forcing our heroes to collaborate in a desperate bid to rescue Samantha from Agartha and ascend to the House. There, they would encounter Dr. Monty, who would guide them on their mission to secure a brighter tomorrow – a future that depended on obtaining the Kronorium, a book detailing predestined events, and the Summoning Key, used to trap the souls of Richtofen, Dempsey, Nikolai, and Takeo.

In defiance of his predestined doom as written, Richtofen reteams with the other three members of Primis to traverse broken timelines of Ultimis. Their mission: to eliminate their own selves, gathering their souls in the Summoning Key to aid Monty in constructing a flawless universe. Once all four souls were captured, Primis reunited with Monty and the House, but not before taking two vials of blood from the Mob of the Dead team as a precautionary measure if Monty sought to eliminate them along with the Apothicons. Consuming these vials and expelling the Apothicons from the House, Monty attempted to create his ideal realm but was unable to erase Primis. Instead, he sent them back to 1299 as heroes of the Great War, thereby resolving a time paradox.

Despite Richtofen’s persistent refusal to perish in this endless loop, he instead transports to his lab on Alcatraz for cryogenic preservation, intending to reawaken in a shattered cycle where Primis are guided away from the path of claiming their souls post-Revelations. In the sequel, Richtofen assigns pre-Gorod Krovi Nikolai with deciphering the Kronorium, understanding that with his spirit intact, he can perform what Richtofen lacks the power to accomplish. Guided by Nikolai, Primis enlist the aid of Ultimis, who then discover the Elemental Shard that binds their souls. Victis are tasked with finding the Agarthan Device. Nikolai poisons both Primis and Ultimis, destroys the artifacts, thereby terminating the cycle, and allowing the Dark Aether to purge the multiverse. In the end, Nikolai instructs Samantha to end his life, thus opening a new universe where the young versions of Samantha, Maxis, and Eddie Richtofen can start anew, unburdened by Apothicons and the undead as the sole inhabitants.

5 Victis

Four Survivors That Saved Samantha Maxis That Were Abandoned After One Last Mission

The Fate of Every Zombies Crew in Call of Duty
  • Samuel J. Stuhlinger
  • Russman
  • Abigal “Misty” Briarton
  • Marlton Johnson

In a turn of events, when Maxis detonated Earth from Griffin Station on the lunar surface in 2025, it was not the present-day Earth that was destroyed. This catastrophic event transformed the world, leading to an overabundance of undead armies under Richtofen’s control. Four individuals found unity amidst the chaos, with three working to sever Richtofen’s connection to the Aether, while Samuel Stuhlinger chose to support Richtofen due to his mind being influenced by Richtofen through consumption of zombie flesh as a member of the Flesh cult.

The team called Victis decided to work with Maxis, journeying around the world to power up structures called pylons, which would weaken Richtofen’s connection to a dark dimension known as Dark Aether, giving Maxis control over the hordes of undead. However, this alliance was a deception, and Maxis abandoned Victis once he gained control of the zombies. Richtofen’s spirit was forced to wander among the zombies, while Samantha Maxis was imprisoned in a place called the House. But, Victis wasn’t completely defeated; they were later assisted by an alternate version of Richtofen (Primis Richtofen) in Buried. Together, they collected some important items for his plan and tricked Victis into getting into cryogenic pods in Maxis’ lab at Alcatraz, where they would be kept frozen until needed again.

Later on, those known as Victis were roused from their pods following a damaged cycle that brought together Ultimis and Primis for the Grand War. They were then transferred to Group 935’s Siberian base in Tag der Toten, where their task was to rebuild the Agarthan Device, upon the instructions of Zombie Richtofen’s guiding voice to Stuhlinger. Once more, Victis were called into action. Nikolai’s strategy hinges on using the Agarthan Device to annihilate the Summoning Key and consequently every universe affected by the Apothicons. This action would cause the Dark Aether to engulf the multiverse, leaving a new, saner universe in its wake. However, Victis were absorbed into the Dark Aether, leaving their ultimate fate shrouded in mystery. Given the rampant corruption and danger lurking within the Dark Aether, as well as their confinement to a Siberian outpost beset by treacherous weather, it’s probable that they all perished.

4 Alcatraz’s Mobsters

Mob of the Dead’s Crew Were Executed, And Their Spirits Freed To Roam A Pocket Dimension

The Fate of Every Zombies Crew in Call of Duty
  • Michael “Finn” O’Leary
  • Salvatore “Sal” DeLuca
  • Albert “Weasel” Arlington
  • Billy Handsome

The team from Mob of the Dead stands out due to their 1920s mobster personas. These gangsters, who once held sway over their city, found themselves incarcerated in Alcatraz and pinned their hopes on Weasel’s outrageous escape schemes. However, these plans were a strange mix of creativity and foolishness, leading to the other three mobsters murdering Weasel out of exasperation. This act of violence provided an opportunity for the Warden of Alcatraz, a clandestine follower of the Shadowman, to carry out executions. As a result, Finn, Sal, Weasel, and Billy found themselves trapped in a pocket dimension, doomed to live and die within the walls of Alcatraz as they battled wave after wave of zombies. Remarkably, they had no memory of their numerous past deaths, even though the environment around them never changed despite multiple resets.

Regardless of whether the Mobsters fled using a homemade aircraft or not, this relentless loop would persist. If either the Mobsters met their end or Weasel was eliminated, the cycle would go on indefinitely. This peculiar dimension created to seize Primis Richtofen’s enriched blood with 115 would remain a perpetual trap for its prize. That was until Weasel managed to retaliate and instead of succumbing to the three other Mobsters, he ended their lives, thereby shattering an eternal cycle that had persisted for ages.

After shattering the cycle that once bound us, my Mob of the Dead team and I now wander the ghostly halls of Alcatraz. No longer subjected to the Warden’s cruelty or enslaved as zombies, we, the mobsters of Alcatraz, haunt this alternate dimension until the Primis arrive. We then join forces with Richtofen in his quest to vanquish the Warden and Brutus. In the heat of battle, Richtofen employs the Fire Gem from his Elemental Staff, a relic from the Great War, to liberate the spirits trapped within Alcatraz – finally giving Finn, Sal, Billy, and Weasel their long-awaited peace.

3 Call of the Dead’s Celebrities

The Cast of Call of The Dead Were Either Killed Or Went Missing

The Fate of Every Zombies Crew in Call of Duty
  • Sarah Michelle Gellar
  • Danny Trejo
  • Michael Rooker
  • Robert Englund

As a passionate fan, I’d rephrase it like this:

In the basement of the lighthouse, the Call of the Dead team stumbles upon a locked mechanical door. Behind it, a German doctor communicates with them – this is actually the Ultimis team, trapped within Richtofen’s ancient teleporter room in his Siberian outpost. Richtofen assigns the Call of the Dead group the mission to retrieve the Vril Device, a crucial component of his master plan. After completing their task, the Ultimis crew depart for Shangri-La, leaving the Call of the Dead team stranded in the frigid Siberian outpost.

In this remote outpost, the cast from The Call of the Dead finds themselves trapped and compelled to battle an unyielding George A. Romero and his relentless undead horde in the bitter cold. Efforts by producers, assistants, and relatives to locate them proved futile. Even Sally, George’s personal assistant, could not find them and instead stumbled upon Shangri-La’s time loop. Consequently, it is presumed that the crew of The Call of the Dead met their demise due to the relentless weather or the onslaught of zombies.

2 Pentagon Crew

The Five Crew Went On With Their Normal Lives, But Fractured Timelines Present Their Deaths

The Fate of Every Zombies Crew in Call of Duty
  • John F. Kennedy
  • Richard Nixon
  • Robert McNamara
  • Fidel Castro

In the aftermath of the Cuban Missile Crisis, I, as a cautious onlooker, knew that President John F. Kennedy, Richard Nixon, and Robert McNamara were approaching a delicate situation when they met with Fidel Castro at the Pentagon in hopes of establishing peace. However, I – Samantha Maxis – had my suspicions due to their association with ex-scientists from Group 935. As a result, my undead forces started to gather menacingly around the Pentagon. The ensuing chaos unfolded as the Five Crew, made up of these four politicians, clashed in fierce combat across the Pentagon and its hidden subterranean levels.

On November 6, 1963, the Pentagon’s zombie infestation was successfully dealt with on the very same day it occurred. This was made possible when the distracted zombie horde followed Ultimis to an abandoned Soviet Cosmodrome base where they rescued Doctor Gersh, ensuring the survival of the Five team. Tragically, President John F. Kennedy was assassinated 14 days later on November 22, 1963. Richard Nixon resigned from office in 1974 and passed away in 1991, while Fidel Castro remained Cuba’s president until 2008 before his death in 2016. Robert McNamara, the Defense Secretary at the time, passed away in 2009.

In a different reality, the Pentagon’s Five crew faced varying outcomes due to cracks in the multiverse. In one scenario, they lived as intended, but in the fissures created when Primis Richtofen killed the Ultimis team, they met their end at the Pentagon. A third possibility stems from a disrupted cycle: instead of going to the meeting between JFK, Nixon, McNamara and Castro at the right time due to Dempsey malfunctioning the teleporter at Shangri-La, the 31-79 JGb215 sent them there prematurely. This led to the Pentagon being attacked by zombies, but it’s uncertain if the Pentagon event (Five) still occurs in this disrupted cycle or not.

1 Shadows of Evil’s Cursed

The Shadows of Evil Crew All Die After Their Dimension Is Eaten By Apothicons

The Fate of Every Zombies Crew in Call of Duty
  • Nero Blackstone
  • Jack Vincent
  • Floyd Campbell
  • Jessica Rose

The tale of the Shadows of Evil team was brief and far from pleasant. They found themselves being subtly controlled by the Shadowman, leading them to carry out unjustified killings on a single night, thereby inadvertently creating another realm within Morg City. The Shadowman offered them a way out of this parallel world, but it came with a heavy price: they had to transform into beasts and betray their most trusted allies by converting them into Gateworms using the Summoning Key, an artifact known as the most potent in the multiverse. However, instead of helping them, this act only allowed the Apothicons – ancient entities of darkness from the Dark Aether – to invade and wreak havoc within this dimension for their own malevolent purposes.

Due to Nero’s impressive recall abilities, he was able to consult a book from his collection to gain additional insights about the Apothicons and the Keepers. The Apothicons are an ancient malevolence lurking in the Dark Aether, causing havoc across the multiverse, while the Keepers serve as its primary defense line for maintaining order within the multiverse. By utilizing this newfound knowledge, the Shadows of Evil team collaborated with the Keepers to imprison Shadowman inside the Summoning Key and restore their dimension to its original state.

In an attempt to help the Shadow of Evil team restore their dimension, The Keepers planned to give them the Summoning Key. However, before they managed to hand it over, Primis Richtofen swiftly grabbed it and leaped into a portal, intending to rectify his own universe. Unfortunately, with no Summoning Key or escape route from Morg City, this dimension was consumed by the Apothicons, leading to the demise of all four Shadow of Evil characters.
