Boruto: 7 Characters Who Could Lead Their Own Series

A major criticism of Boruto is that it often focuses too much on Boruto Uzumaki, Sarada Uchiha, and their famous parents, leaving other characters underdeveloped. The manga has a large number of characters, both returning favorites and new faces, and it’s challenging for the creators to give everyone sufficient attention.

While Boruto Uzumaki is a popular character, the series features other individuals who are just as captivating and could easily lead their own stories. These characters have interesting abilities, personal challenges, and histories that are strong enough to support a separate manga or anime series.

Momoshiki Otsutsuki Offers Lore About His Clan

Momoshiki is a member of the mysterious Otsutsuki Clan, a group with a hidden and complex history. Their origins are unknown, and they wield incredible powers that could reshape the world. They travel from planet to planet, consuming chakra fruit and marking chosen individuals with special seals called karma.

Beyond his family, Momoshiki is a fascinating character. He’s truly evil, and his intense hatred for Boruto Uzumaki and everyone else is extreme. This harsh personality has sparked a lot of interest in his backstory – fans want to know where his anger comes from and if there’s more to him than just villainy, similar to the complex history of Kurama, the Nine-Tailed Beast.

Kashin Koji Is Jiraiya 2.0 But Different

Kashin Koji immediately captured fans’ attention because he strongly resembled the deceased Jiraiya. Many initially believed he was Jiraiya, miraculously returned, but it was later revealed he was a clone – created using Jiraiya’s DNA by Amado Sanzu.

Kashin Koji is a fascinating character, not just because of his appearance, but also his powerful ability called Prescience. This allows him to see possible futures. He’s likely been guiding Boruto with these visions for some time, but his motives remain hidden. Because of his mysterious nature, Kashin Koji would be a perfect subject for a spin-off series exploring his past, secret goals, and the futures he’s attempting to alter.

Eida’s Past Is Unexplored

Eida is a cyborg who, like others, was discarded by Amado and Isshiki because her newly awakened powers were too dangerous and uncontrollable. Her unique ability, called Omnipotence, is incredibly powerful – the strongest known – and strangely, only those with Otsutsuki lineage or those she specifically overlooked are unaffected by it.

Everyone familiar with Eida understands her powers, like Charm and Senrigan, but there’s a lot we don’t know about her life before Amado changed her. Beyond her abilities, fans are particularly interested in her desire for love and connection, which adds depth to her character and makes her relatable.

Himawari Uzumaki’s New Identity Demands Clarification

Ever since Himawari was revealed to be the host of the Nine-Tailed Beast, Kurama, fans have been fascinated by the secrets of her birth and the immense power she might one day wield. It’s hard to imagine such a sweet child having such dangerous capabilities.

Himawari was expected to be a sweet and kind member of the Uzumaki family, but she actually possesses a significant amount of hidden power that makes her a valuable asset to the Leaf Village. Her unique heritage, combining the bloodlines of both the Uzumaki and Hyuga clans, gives her a special and promising character. Now, fans are hoping for a spin-off series to show more of her development as a ninja and her bond with Kurama.

Mitsuki Is a Complex Character

Mitsuki is a deeply complex character in Boruto, constantly questioning who he is, what his purpose is, and where he comes from. His connection to Orochimaru is a significant part of his story, and exploring their relationship could reveal more about Mitsuki’s past and the experiments Orochimaru performed on him.

Mitsuki has all the qualities of a great protagonist: a mysterious background and unclear ambitions. Currently, he mostly focuses on following Boruto, but the series hasn’t fully explored his own path to understanding himself.

Jura’s Human Habits Are Fascinating

Jura, the most powerful of the Shinju Clones, feels like a main character because of his background, personality, natural talents, and skills. Although fans know Code played a role in his creation, the unknown origins of the young Ten-Tails beast only make Jura more intriguing.

What makes Jura so compelling is that he’s not simply a destructive villain. He often reveals a surprisingly human side, showcasing complex and conflicting feelings. Unlike many villains who crave power, Jura is driven by a desire to understand people and the world around him.

Sakura Haruno Needs More Attention

I’ve noticed that Sakura doesn’t get nearly as much attention in Boruto as Naruto and Sasuke do. After becoming the hospital director in Konoha, she hasn’t really had opportunities to demonstrate the amazing strength and skills she developed. It’s frustrating to watch, honestly – the series often seems to forget she’s one of Konoha’s most powerful and intelligent ninja, and keeps her on the sidelines.

Now that the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga is heading in a new direction, it feels like a great opportunity to focus on Sakura. With Sasuke and Naruto often away, the manga—or even a separate series—could really highlight Sakura’s strengths and let her step up as a leader and fill the roles her friends have left open.
