Far Cry 3: Classic Edition Receives 60FPS Update

The popular Ubisoft game, Far Cry 3, is getting a big update to improve how it plays on modern consoles.

Far Cry 3: Classic Edition is getting a performance boost with a new update that unlocks 60 frames per second. Sony revealed a trailer on January 18th, highlighting the improved graphics and letting players know they can revisit the world of Far Cry 3. The game is available through Ubisoft+ Classics and is also included with PlayStation Plus Premium and Extra subscriptions. You can download the update starting January 21st.

Other Renditions of Far Cry 3 May Be Getting Updates As Well

Before releasing the trailer, the Far Cry team announced that they’re planning to add a 60 frames-per-second update not only to the original Far Cry 3, but also to Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon and Far Cry Primal.

The Classic Edition was released in 2018, and the original version in 2012.

So, this update got me thinking – does it make you want to jump back into Far Cry 3? I’m curious to hear what you all think, so come chat about it on our Discord! If you’re not feeling a revisit to that classic, don’t worry – there’s a Far Cry TV show coming to FX, so we’ll get some new content eventually!
