Marathon Will Star Big Actors from Clair Obscur and Baldur’s Gate 3

I’m really excited to hear that Marathon is going to have some familiar voices! Bungie just announced which English voice actors will be in the game at launch, and a lot of them have been in some amazing titles. We don’t know who they’ll be playing yet, but they’ve all worked on award-winning games like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Baldur’s Gate 3, and even Overwatch! It’s a great sign for the game’s quality, in my opinion.

I’m so excited for Marathon! It’s basically a fresh start for Bungie’s classic FPS series that first came out on Macs way back in the ’90s. From what I understand, it’s a multiplayer extraction shooter – you’ll be going in, grabbing loot, and getting out – with some player-versus-player action thrown in. The cool thing is, even though Bungie is now part of Sony, you won’t need a PlayStation account to play if you get it on Steam or Xbox Series X/S. It’s coming out globally on March 5th, and pre-orders are live now. The standard digital version is $39.99, but they’ve also got a super fancy physical collector’s edition with the game code that’s going for $229.99!

Bungie recently shared details about the rewards players will receive for pre-ordering Marathon, and also announced the English voice actors for the game. The cast includes 33 actors, many of whom gamers will recognize from other popular titles. Jennifer English, Ben Starr, and Tracy Wiles, all previously featured in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, will be voicing characters in Marathon. English is well-known for her role as Maelle in Expedition 33 and for voicing Shadowheart in Baldur’s Gate 3; she’ll also play Gwendolyn in the upcoming game Tides of Annihilation. Starr has voiced Verso in Expedition 33, Clive Rosfield in Final Fantasy 16, and Prometheus in Hades 2. Wiles is known for her work as The Paintress in Expedition 33, Jaheira in Baldur’s Gate 3, and Joanna Calendula in Metaphor: ReFantazio.

Beyond English and Wiles, two more voice actors from the acclaimed Baldur’s Gate 3 are joining the cast of Marathon. Neil Newbon (Astarion) and Samantha Béart (Karlach) are both credited in Marathon, though their specific roles are still a mystery. Fans will have to wait for more details on who they’ll be playing. Bungie has confirmed that Marathon will feature fully translated dialogue in all supported languages, including Spanish, French, Japanese, and Korean. The voice actors for those non-English versions will be announced closer to the game’s release.

The upcoming game Marathon features a talented voice cast, including actors from popular titles like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Baldur’s Gate 3, as well as other critically acclaimed projects. Darin De Paul and Fred Tatasciore, known for voicing Reinhardt and Soldier: 76 in Overwatch, are both involved. De Paul also voiced the villain Ardyn Izunia in Final Fantasy 15. Rounding out the cast are Roger Clark, who played Arthur Morgan in Red Dead Redemption 2, and Erica Lindbeck, a veteran of games like Persona 5, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, and Genshin Impact.

Marathon’s Success Depends on More Than the Voice Cast

Despite a recent controversy involving copied artwork and a delayed launch caused by negative reactions, the game Marathon is scheduled to release on March 5th. With a well-known voice cast and improvements based on player feedback, a lot is depending on Marathon being a hit. However, with successful shooters like ARC Raiders and Battlefield 6 already popular in 2025, it’s still uncertain how Marathon will perform, especially considering its difficult history.
