Bungie recently announced the release date for their new extraction shooter, Marathon, and shared a trailer. Soon after, they published the game’s PC system requirements on Steam, and it turns out the game won’t need a powerful computer to run.
A major reason people are getting excited about Marathon is its appealing art style and visuals, which are surprisingly easy on computer hardware.
Marathon PC Specs Confirmed as Low Entry
You can find the complete PC system requirements for Marathon on Steam, and they’re quite reasonable. This is part of a welcome trend in gaming, where new titles are increasingly designed to run well on a wider range of computers, which is great news for players.
Here’s the breakdown:
Minimum Spec:
- Intel Core i5-6600 / AMD Ryzen 5 2600
- 8 GB RAM
- GTX 1050 Ti (4 GB) / RX 5500 XT (4 GB)
Recommended Spec:
- Intel Core i5-10400 / Ryzen 5 3500
- 16 GB RAM
- GTX 2060 (6 GB) / RX 5700 XT (8 GB)
Marathon’s system requirements are surprisingly accessible, focusing on CPUs from nearly six years ago and GPUs released as far back as January 2019. This makes the highly anticipated first-person extraction shooter much easier for PC players to jump into this year.
ARC Raiders, an adventure game launched by Embark Studios in October 2025, has PC system requirements very similar to those of other games. It asks for almost the same computer parts to run effectively.
Okay, so I’ve been looking at system requirements, and Escape from Tarkov is a beast! It officially launched as a finished game a few months ago, but to actually run it well, you need some seriously high-end gear. We’re talking a really recent processor – like one from 2024 – an RTX 4070 graphics card or something even better, and a massive 64 GB of RAM. It’s definitely not a game you can play on just any old PC!
