Playground Productions just revealed that a new Backyard Baseball game is coming out in Summer 2026. This marks the first new installment in the Backyard Sports series since the mobile game released in 2015. If released on consoles, it would be the first major platform release since 2010’s Rookie Rush.
Because the PlayStation 2 had so many fantastic games, quite a few of them are now difficult or impossible to play. While some have been ported to other systems or added to online game collections, these aren’t always the best way to experience them, and even those options aren’t always available. It’s the third game in the Tomodachi series – it all started way back in 2009 with a Japan-only game called Tomodachi Collection. Basically, you’re in charge of a town full of Miis, watching them live their lives and interact with each other. But this time, it’s different! We actually have more control over what our Miis do and who they become friends with. It’s awesome because we can really shape their lives and see how things play out!
