In the game Hytale, Redwood is a rare wood needed to fully upgrade your Farmer’s Workbench. You can only get it by chopping down specific trees found in the game’s wilderness areas, but the game doesn’t tell you where to find them, making it a bit of a treasure hunt.
If you want the best farming tools in Hytale, you’ll need to find Redwood Logs. Here’s where to look and which trees to chop down to get them.
How to Get Redwood Logs in Hytale
Redwood Logs can be obtained from three types of trees in Hytale:
- Maple Trees
- Redwood Trees
- Blue Fig Trees
Maple Tree Location
You can find maple trees in the Fens, a red forest area within Zone 1 of the Emerald Grove in Hytale. These forests are easy to spot on the map because their red color contrasts with the surrounding green landscapes.
Maple trees are easily recognizable thanks to their bright red leaves and reddish-brown bark. Because these trees grow in the beginner area, Maple Logs will probably be the simplest type of Redwood for players to collect.
Redwood Tree Location
In the game Hytale, you can find Redwood trees in the Frostmarch Tundra, a region within Zone 3 known as the Whisperfrost Frontiers. These trees don’t usually grow alone; instead, they form large forests. On the game map, look for areas with a lot of dark green treetops to locate these Redwood forests.
As a big fan of trees, I’ve always been fascinated by Redwoods! They’re known for their beautiful green leaves and that gorgeous reddish-brown bark. People often confuse them with Cedar trees, though, because they grow in the same places and their bark looks somewhat similar. But here’s a trick I learned: if you look closely at the leaves, you’ll see the difference. Redwoods have bright green leaves, while Cedar leaves are actually a bit blueish. The bark can be a clue too – Cedar bark tends to be a plainer brown, but honestly, that’s harder to tell at a glance.
In Hytale, you can grow Redwood trees by making a Redwood Sapling at a Farmer’s Workbench. But, you’ll need to upgrade your Farmer’s Workbench to Tier 5 before the recipe for the sapling becomes available.
Blue Fig Tree Location
In Hytale, Blue Fig trees grow in the underground jungle areas of the Devastated Lands (Zone 4). A good way to find these hidden jungles is to descend into the deep lava pits.
The jungle is made up of two different areas. One features trees with vibrant pink bark, while the other is home to large Banyan trees. Among the Banyan trees, you’ll find Blue Fig Trees, which are easy to recognize by their blue leaves and red bark. However, Blue Fig Trees are quite rare – you might only encounter one or two in a whole area.
Dinosaurs in Hytale also spawn in the jungle biome of the Devastated Lands.
