According to a reliable source, LEGO is planning a new set based on the popular game Animal Crossing, expected to be released in summer 2026. This would be at least the second Animal Crossing LEGO set planned for that year, and there’s even a possibility of a third.
LEGO launched its Animal Crossing collection in March 2024, initially with five sets priced between $15 and $75. Along with these, they also released a couple of smaller promotional sets, and then two more – a Dodo Airlines plane and a K.K. Concert set – in August. Because the collection was so well-received, LEGO is planning another release in 2025, split into sets launching in January and August.
One Of LEGO’s Most Expensive Animal Crossing Sets Yet Reportedly Coming in Summer 2026
LEGO is planning to continue its collaboration with Nintendo, according to a recent report from reliable leaker lego_minecraft_goat. The source revealed details about a new Animal Crossing LEGO set, numbered 77059, which is expected to be released in summer 2026. It’s anticipated to cost $59.99 in the U.S. and €59.99 in Europe, making it the fifth most expensive Animal Crossing LEGO set so far. The leaker also clarified that this particular set (77059) probably won’t include LEGO’s new Smart Play technology, if a set with that technology is even in development.

The recently released LEGO Animal Crossing set (77059) might not be the only one this year. Rumors suggest LEGO is planning another, smaller Animal Crossing kit called a Polybag – a mini building set sold in a bag instead of a box. This set, numbered 30731, is expected to contain 33 pieces and be available in March 2026. LEGO has previously released two Animal Crossing Polybags – Julian’s Beach Painting and Maple’s Pumpkin Garden – in 2024 and 2025, respectively. However, those were given away as free gifts with purchases, not sold separately.

Since the LEGO Animal Crossing theme launched in 2024, an average of 6.5 sets have been released each year, not counting special promotional bundles. While the release rate seems to be decreasing, we might see more than two new sets in 2026. One possibility is a larger, more expensive “Smart Play” set – which a LEGO enthusiast, lego_minecraft_goat, believes is separate from the currently rumored 77059 set, priced at $59.99. If 77059 is slated to come out in March, we can expect an official announcement around mid-February 2026.
