There’s a curious hush hanging over the Shiba Inu developer den, like a cat that’s nibbled on a lemon and won’t tell you why. Shiba Inu developer Kaal Dhairya last clattered onto X on Dec. 30, and then, with a flourish, handed the SHIB army a year-end letter on Dec. 31.
This mirrors the silence that shrouds Shiba Inu lead ambassador Shytoshi Kusama, whose last flick of activity on X was between Dec. 7 and 8.
In his year-end note to the SHIB crowd, Dhairya unveiled a plan to make Shibarium users who were nipped by the September hack feel whole again. Then sprang the vision for SOUs (SHIB owes you), a jolly system where every affected user gets an SOU NFT-an on-chain, verifiable badge that shows exactly what the ecosystem owes. This cryptographic proof will be carved forever on the Ethereum blockchain, with the efficiency of a stamp and the drama of a birthday cake.
Since Dhairya introduced Shiba Inu SOUs at the close of 2025, not much else has been heard from the Shiba Inu developer, while the community-powered SOUs begin their clattering march.
Shiba Inu community awaits update
As the community waits for official updates on SHIB SOU NFTs, Woofswap, a Shibarium project, barks its pledge toward the SOU system, promising to make Shibarium users whole with the SOU token on the BSC Chain.
In a wag of a tweet, Woofswap notes the whole lot waits for a green light, while Kaal Dhairya remains silent as a cat in a linen closet, refusing to shed an official peep.
I’ve waded through a mountain of comments and chatter!
First off, let’s be clear: I’m not the grand head of SHIB-I’m just a builder tinkering in the corner.
$4 million sounds like a monstrous treasure, yet in the grand tale of Shib Owes You-the $SOU-it’s a mere fig at the edge of the pie for footing the bill…
– WOOF (@woofswap) January 24, 2026
Woofswap says the motive remains to splash coin on the hurt, to make good the Shibarium users who took a tumble. Yet, even with all the hustle and pitter-patter of participants, the Shiba Inu crowd still lingers for a word from the SHIB wizards on what next as 2026 strides forward.
Shiba Inu vision dead?
In his note to the SHIB army, Kaal Dhairya says the Shiba Inu dream isn’t dead, merely squashed under something heavy-but not defeated.
He declares the team’s true trick is technology, and the spotlight will swing to the techy arm of the ship.
With a rallying call to the Shiba Inu crowd, he asks for brave souls to step up if they believe in what Shib was meant to become, for he might not be able to carry the torch forever.
