Project Rene, the next iteration of The Sims, has been in the works since at least 2022. Since announcing the project in October of that year, the developers at Maxis have held several private playtests, giving players a sneak peek at how the game works. Despite the tests being exclusive and under non-disclosure agreements, information has consistently leaked online, as often happens with fan-accessible projects. Because of this, screenshots and details from almost every Project Rene playtest have appeared online since the game was first announced.

Pokemon GO has been adding Pokemon from the latest games, including several from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Niantic started introducing creatures from the Paldea region (inspired by Spain) in late 2023, beginning with the starter Pokemon. Since the game launched, Niantic has consistently added new Pokemon, recently including Tarountula and Spidops. Now, a new leak suggests another event themed around the Paldea region is coming in December.

Nintendo has seen recent success with films like The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and they’re continuing this trend with a new live-action Legend of Zelda movie. After proving they can create box office hits with their popular game franchises, Nintendo is now working on this ambitious adaptation, directed by Wes Ball (known for The Maze Runner). The film, scheduled for release on May 7, 2027, has already cast the actors for Link and Zelda. Filming is currently happening, and a recent leak suggests we might soon find out who will play a key ally of Zelda.

Concord’s launch was a clear failure. The game, a live-service shooter, reportedly cost over $400 million to make, but Sony quickly shut down the development team and took the game offline just days after it launched.

Despite some drawbacks common in free-to-play games – like repetitive tasks, complicated systems with lots of currencies and daily logins, and frustrating roadblocks – certain titles really shine when it comes to exploration. These games offer worlds that are as beautiful and detailed as those in paid games, and they create truly unforgettable moments of discovery.
