To initiate the “Let’s Play A Game” quest in Echoes of Wisdom, follow these steps:

Outside the ruins lie numerous foes such as Moblins and Boarblins. You can choose to dash by them or, if their Echoes haven’t been gathered yet, pause briefly on your journey upward to engage with them.

You can ascend the cliffs and ruins along the east side of the area without facing any adversaries, if you make use of Echoes for scaling.

As you ascend to the peak, you’ll encounter an archaeologist named Sago. He’s keen on exploring the temple further ahead, but he claims to be hearing a voice whispering “Let’s Play A Game” from within. Speak with Sago to embark on the Echoes of Wisdom quest titled “Let’s Play A Game”. Delve into the temple to uncover the origin of this mysterious voice.

Get Through The Ruins To Fight The Recurring Smog Boss

As you step into the Eastern Ruin, you’ll encounter a pair of Spark adversaries nestled against the room’s central pillars. These Spark creatures adhere to walls and traverse alongside them, so if you strategically position an Echo (like a Boulder echo for instance) in their path, they will alter their course to follow the edges of the summoned object. You can manipulate the movement of Sparks in this way to conquer the dungeon’s challenges – or simply acquire the Spark Echo.

To eliminate those Sparks and obtain the Spark Echo (which can be found by using a Bombfish or a bomb from Eldin Volcano), consider detonating them. This echo is invaluable as it allows you to circumvent puzzles involving electricity by simply summoning Sparks wherever they are required.

In this initial chamber, you’ll find a massive rock, with walls extending towards it on both sides, and three Sparks roaming about. Your objective in here is to maneuver or summon three Spark duplicates into the top-left yellow container. You can manipulate the current Sparks’ trajectory using Echoes, or create three Spark Echoes and instantly place them within the top-left yellow box, followed by proceeding further.

Step into the next chamber to find a pair of Sparks scurrying along the walls and a yellow container positioned high up and to the left, hovering above Zelda. There are two approaches to solving this riddle:

Since you’ve undoubtedly mastered the Spark Echo at the Eastern Temple’s threshold, it’s a breeze for you to conjure up a pair and instantly place them in the yellow container, thereby unlocking the path ahead.

In the adjoining chamber, you can unlock the “Chest of Riches” for some essential ingredients for a silky Rock Salt smoothie. Either utilize another explosive device like a bomb or Bombfish to clear the sparks defending it, or find an alternative method. To access the side-scrolling part of the Eastern Temple’s labyrinth, move towards the ladder on your left side instead.

In this region, you should utilize the Bomb technique to overcome the Sparks, and employ a powerful Combat Echo to conquer (and gain knowledge from) the Caromadillo Echo level 2 on the lower level.

Move ahead to reach a room featuring a watery section. You can choose to dive beneath and find a treasure trove of 50 Rupees in a chest there, or simply carry on above water to make your way to the exit.

As a player engrossed in the game, head out of the underwater region and pass through the northern door to confront Smog, the ultimate foe of the Eastern Temple and the climax of the “Let’s Play A Game” mission.

How To Beat Smog in Echoes of Wisdom

In this scenario, the final boss in the Let’s Play A Game quest is a colossal electric cloud called Smog, adorned with horns and a massive eye. Similar to Spark creatures, Smog navigates by clinging to surrounding structures, allowing you to foresee its movements and manipulate them using Echoes.

As the battle commences, drink an Electricity Resistant beverage or shake, then engage Swordfighter Transformation. Attack Smog a few times initially to trigger the first pause phase. Smog will subsequently divide into three smaller clouds that scatter across the room and continue to strike Zelda’s position with electrical bursts.

You can’t control these clouds to make them move, but you can manipulate them by creating echoes that block their paths and force them to collide with each other. When two clouds get close enough, they will merge and grow into a larger patch of smog. Your objective is to bring all three clouds together again so that the smog regains its solid, tangible form that you can interact with.

When you’ve rejoined the three fragments of Smog, activate Swordfighter Form once more and keep attacking it (ideally while under the influence of a Lightning Resistance potion). After some additional strikes, Smog will disperse into five distinct Clouds this time. Use Echoes to alter each cloud’s trajectory so they all reunite again.

After you remold Smog for a second time, summon a robust Echo and activate Swordfighter Form to defeat the boss, though not completely for good this time. Smog will vanish following the battle, vowing to win the next one, and true to his word, he makes another appearance in the Cotton Candy Hunt quest, which initiates in Scrubton once Let’s Play A Game has been finished.

Lets Play A Game Quest Rewards

After successfully overcoming Smog in the “Let’s Play A Game” mission, the boss will award you a Heart Piece, some Rupees, and several Might Stones as rewards. For the moment, the Eastern Temple is rid of the dreadful Smog.

Go back outside and chat with Sago to finish the “Play a Game” mission. As a reward, the archaeologist will provide Zelda with the Ancient Artifact, an Accessory that slightly lessens damage when used. This is one of the top-tier “Echoes of Wisdom” accessories until it’s upgraded to a more potent version of the same effect.

Completing this task will grant you access to the subsequent adventure known as “The Cotton Candy Hunt quest”. After successfully conquering the Hyrule Castle dungeon, navigate towards the Faron Wetlands located at the south-eastern part of your world map. Engage in conversation with a Scrub resident in Scrubton following the sealing of the rift within the area to uncover information about a Cotton Candy creature lurking nearby.
