Switch Players, Here’s the Most Popular Decisions in Dispatch to See How You Compare

Massive spoilers ahead for Dispatch.

The game Dispatch is now available on both the original Switch and the new Switch 2, but its launch hasn’t been without problems. Players are upset about unexpected censorship – some adult content has been removed without an option to turn it back on. According to reports, Nintendo made these changes to align with its family-friendly image. However, fans point out that other games with similar mature themes, like Cyberpunk 2077, weren’t censored to the same degree. It’s unusual to see things like nudity and gestures blacked out in a game intended for adult audiences. Despite this, many players will be experiencing Dispatch on Nintendo Switch for the first time, and here are some of the most popular choices players have made in the game’s key decisions.

This information comes from recent game results and year-end data AdHoc posted on social media.

Dispatch: Popular Choices Regarding Romances

According to the data, the most popular choices regarding romance are as follows:

  • Kiss Blonde Blazer (episode 1)
  • Don’t try to go with Blonde Blazer on her date (episode 2)
  • Date Invisigal (episode 4)
  • Keep Invisigal on the Team (episode 7)
  • Forgive Invisigal (episode 7)
  • Return Invisigal’s kiss (episode 7)
  • Trust Invisigal and Untie Her (episode 8)
  • End up With Invisigal (episode 8)

Since its release, the biggest point of discussion among players of the game Dispatch has been which romantic interest is the best: Blonde Blazer or Invisigal. Both characters work well with the player character, Robert – players can shape Robert to be a brooding anti-hero perfect for Invisigal, or a more traditional hero who fits well with Blazer. However, Invisigal is significantly more popular. According to data from AdHoc in 2025, 1.9 million players pursued a romance with Invisigal, compared to 1 million who chose Blonde Blazer. With almost twice as many fans, Invisigal is clearly the more beloved character, and there are several reasons why this might be the case.

  1. Blazer’s early relationship with Phenomaman complicates things and could push players away from her.
  2. Invisigal is more blunt and direct with her interest in Robert, which includes a very revealing scene at the start of episode 4 that may have won some players over.
  3. Invisigal is the “more important” character to the story, as she’s constantly involved in the plot and the biggest impact players can have with their choices is shaping her into a hero or villain.
  4. AdHoc has openly admitted that it may have shown a bit too much favoritism to Invisigal, with Blazer regularly taking on a background role.

A huge number of players – over 66,000 – weren’t successful in romancing either of the game’s characters. Even more, around 164,000, didn’t pursue a romance with either character in Dispatch.

When it comes to romance choices, a few trends really stand out. Most players respected Blazer’s wishes and didn’t interfere with her date, but a significant number – 54% – did kiss her on the billboard early on. However, Invisigal quickly gained popularity; while 54% initially showed interest in Blazer, only 37% were still dating her by episode 4, compared to 63% who chose Invisigal. Players also consistently supported Invisigal, with 69% keeping her on the Z-Team despite potential morale issues, 72% forgiving her for a mishap with a suit, and a remarkable 87% trusting her in the final episode. This is reflected in the fact that 78% of players kissed her in episode 7, which likely explains why so many ended up with her – or created a more complicated situation with Blazer.

Dispatch: Popular Choices Regarding the Z-Team

According to the data, the most popular choices involving the Z-Team are as follows:

  • Cut Coupe (episode 3)
  • Recruit Waterboy (episode 4)
  • Tell the Z-Team You’re Mecha Man (episode 5)

When it comes to which characters Robert’s friends and coworkers should be cut, Sonar is the clear favorite. Almost twice as many players—2.8 million—voted to eliminate Coupe compared to Sonar (1.6 million). This could be due to Sonar’s unique design, the popularity of his voice actor, MoistCr1TiKaL, or his ability to play two roles. Players might also have been influenced by wanting to keep Malevola, a popular character who is friends with Sonar, while Coupe is linked to Punch-Up. Whatever the reason, the difference in votes is substantial.

The closest contest in the game right now is between recruiting Phenomaman and Waterboy. Both characters are popular, with only a 3% difference separating them – Waterboy currently leads at 53%. According to year-end data, 2.3 million players started with Waterboy, while 2 million gave Phenomaman a try. Both are well-liked, but have weaknesses in gameplay: Waterboy starts at a low level, and Phenomaman’s depression often takes him out of action. Meanwhile, most players (84%) chose to be honest with the Z-Team after the bar fight in episode 5. This is likely because players had already formed connections with the villain characters by that point.

Most players easily forgave whichever character was eliminated at the end of the Dispatch finale.

Dispatch: Popular Choices Regarding Shroud

According to the data, the most popular choices regarding Shroud are as follows:

  • Give Shroud Both Astral Pulses (episode 8)
  • Spare Shroud (episode 8)

The villain Shroud in Dispatch offers some interesting choices for players. While his ability to predict almost everything makes him a powerful enemy, most players discovered the best strategy was to do something completely unexpected. A surprising 61% managed to trick him by presenting both the fake and real Astral Pulse. This worked well because he forces players to hand over the fake if they try a direct deception, making it a clever way to outsmart the man responsible for Robert’s father’s death. Ultimately, players were evenly split on what happened to Shroud, with each of the three possible outcomes being equally chosen.

Most players end up with Shroud dying in their playthroughs. This usually happens because they don’t develop Invisigal’s character effectively, leading her to kill Shroud and prevent the player from choosing the villain’s destiny. While it’s possible to turn Invisigal into a hero and still romance Blazer, many players who choose Blazer focus so much on that relationship that they unintentionally alienate Invisigal. This neglect causes her to turn to a darker path in about 32% of games. Another 31% of players successfully make Invisigal a hero, but still end up killing Shroud themselves. Regardless of the reason – whether it’s Shroud’s past actions, threats to other characters, or harming Invisigal or the city – Shroud dies in 63% of all playthroughs. Although slightly more players choose to save him when given the option (37%), it’s difficult to determine which outcome is more common overall because of Invisigal’s influence on the story.

It will be fascinating to see how players of Dispatch make decisions in the game, and whether those choices reflect what most new players do. While Invisigal will probably remain the most popular romantic option, the data could show some changes for closer calls, like the choice between Phenoman and Waterboy. When Dispatch Season 2 is released, hopefully it will include just as many impactful decisions involving Robert and the Z-Team.
